Friendships develop best naturally. I have nothing against older friends but tend to make friends with younger people. I don't plan it. They just seem to get along with me more often. So, in a way you see, we're alike. :)

Most of my friends are 20s or 30s. They can keep up with me on activities whereas ones my age don't want to do things, or cannot because of infirmaries. I know I'll be there too some day, but let's not rush things!!

Hey just participate in the forum discussions and forget messaging
people and you will meet all kinds of oddballs, weirdos, smartazzes,
and the intellectually deficient.

It is Grand Hotel minus the grand and more like a truckstop than a
hotel but hey it's home.

People like to strike up a conversation and get to know you that way
and in a public forum it is a lot easier for people to see your point
of view and respond to it and see how you think. Or maybe how you
drool. The Politics and Religion and Sex forums are the most "lively".

You can excite people to crazed ecstasy or befoul them with revulsion
there with a simple one word ejaculation!

Politics: "Liberal!"

Religion: "Jesus!"

You may not be doing anything wrong jas. If I'm honest, I would not respond to a friend request from someone considerably older (or younger) than myself unless I had built up a relationship with them in the forums.

All of my friends in Dallas are younger, mainly 20s. They are a lot of fun and they love my frankness dearly, but I need older friends to talk about when we walked 15 miles and ....

Old people tell a lot of stories and smell funny.

Let me be clear, I like funny smells and stories!

I imagine what is going on here is maybe you are reaching out to the younger friend generation and having a bad response. If that is the case I would have to guess it is the wrong person to be friends with. If they judge a friendship on your age.. ditch them. I am friends with a ocean of older people..and by older I refer to older than myself no matter how much older. They bring a world of knowledge to the table. Try not to profile a friend by an age, not everyone is the same. Good luck.

hmmmmmmm thats weird, i guess if you were at a group thing and there was a mix of people, but i do think its a bit taboo to seek out younger ones...

I have a mixture of friends, older and younger, I have kids from 14 to peopte in their 70's.

Obviously I don't run arond with younger kids, but they still make great friends.
