Topic: Questions in emails

When I get emails from new guys, the emails tend to be full of the same questions.

"Why are you single?"
"How long have you been here?"
"How long have you been single?"

Those are just a few of the questions that are asked by most. I'm sure I'm not the only one who gets them either.

Do you ask these types of questions when you email new people?

What other questions do you see over and over?

I will give you my FAVORITE type of email. :-)

'Hi, please write me back with all your
information so I can see if I like you.'

I laugh and laugh :-)

My LEAST favorite is:

'I have seen your picture and
I know you are the ONE.'

First email.
Really.

No I never ask these questions. I usually comment or ask about something in their profile, if they wrote one.

I stopped getting emails once I put ESRD in my profile.

I don't e-mail new people.

The questions I get are almost always:

"Where are you?"
"What do you do?"
"What are you looking for on this site?"

...at which time I refer them to my profile, because they would already know the answers if they had read it.

I often get something like:

"Hi. Tell me about yourself."

When I ask them what they want to know, they say anything. When I ask them to be more specific, they say they don't know what to ask, or they ask the questions in the first email. So unoriginal.

I get those, too. When I ask them if they've read my profile, they tell me they were just "checking up" on what I've said.

The only one I have received more than four times is.

"I have seen your post, looked at your profile are you for real?"

Why are they asking if you're for real?

Yeah, mine usually start out with "I just read your profile and I really liked it," followed by the Three Questions. It just doesn't seem like they actually did read it, though, so now I'm looking for something to indicate this is a scammer.

I have no idea. They do not answer my response. In fact they do not open the mail I send back to them.

I never really think the ones who email me like that are scammers... just boring, unoriginal people.

I do not get that much mail, but when I do it's often an extension of a forum topic. I seldom answer questions asked that are answered in my profile (when I had one), I do not answer how long are u here because IDK - I just tell them to check my join date - that way no one thinks I'm lying, and if they want to know THEY can check my join date as I don;t really care

The best correspondence I have had is where the conversation flows naturally without a lot of pointless questions - a few yes, that's fine but the best questions are those asked on a real "need to know " basis

if it's already answered in my profile I often just delete the mail...unless he's hotlove

Nah, I prefer the kind of guy who doesn't go with the typical line of questioning.

Well, lady, how many do you want to be?

Three? Five? Seven?

Geesh...

I usually get this...

"Why are you single?"
"Where are you?"
"What do you do?"
"What are you looking for on this site?"

And get the response that they're check up on what I wrote in the profile. I'm thinking of having an automatic set of questions that I automatically throw back along the lines of

"Do you have kids?"
"Do you smoke?"
"How do you feel about animals?" "Really?"
"What's your religion and how important is it?"

Might save multiple conversations till they out themselves...
