As to the OP, there will be so many different kind of women here that no one answer will be right.

Culturally women are equal to men more here than elsewhere in the world. There is still a battle going on for equality at that level though. You don't want to get caught up in that.

You can find a subservient women here too though so it is still an option.

Just talk with some women and see what you see.

I don't like forward advances when I state I am uninterested in a relationship. It probably makes me the angriest when I am not listened to, and usually it ends up in a very angry me when I have people advancing on me when I've very clearly stated, "No." I think that's for everyone, honestly.

A couple things I do like, though, are just friends. Platonic relationships are sort of my thing, I try to make this clear, unless I actually feel comfortable and in a good situation with someone I like. Usually, it doesn't work out, and I'm trying to get better with how I handle rejection.

I don't know, a few things I really enjoy are just hanging out and such, I like getting to know people, the most.

American women are from many different countries, me being one of them. I'm American but I also have another nationality. That's why you will hear a lot "American women" say "you will get different answers." And it's offensive.

Many of us are upset about grouping nationalities yet when I look at posts there are plenty of groupings of gender. Just something to think about.

Same here. I don't like to be pursued or chased by people who I'm not interested in, especially after I already made it clear. I also don't like to be stared at. I like to hang out with gay guys.

American women like to be referred to as 'babydoll'.

They like to wait on their men hand and foot. The American woman knows that she is inferior and should be subserviant at all times.

They like to stay at home, rarely going out anywhere without their partner. Occasionally, maybe once a year, they like to meet a girlfriend in Starbucks for a quick coffee. After they are happy to go back home to finish the laundry.

American women do not expect complete faithfulness from their men. They just want a man who will not hit them TOO often.

American women like to receive emails from men from all over the world. They might appear uninterested to begin with, but don't let this put you off. They will become more interested after the 30th or 40th one. Trust me on this, they love to be bombarded.

one hurdle for men of different cultures where women are not going to be seen as equals to a man in everyway is going to be acceptance

few, if any, woman in the west, not just the US are going to date a man who really believes women are inferior - I am cautious, myself, when they have been raised since birth in a culture that imbues that belief

In the west women believe themselves equals to men, and many do not concern themselves with religious restrictions on their behavior even if they are church going

I doubt you would be happy with a western woman - few mind the home or work for the "family" as in turning over their pay to a spouse or parent

all of this in terms of cultural differences would make me very hesitant to date men of certain back grounds- just my .02

I had an unpleasant experience with a muslim man from India who became incensed because I refused to meet him at a hotel for a first date. I was shocked at the suggestion (and concerned it might reflect his view on American women), and then just disgusted by his attitude of superiority and indignation because I would not do as I was "told."

IF you can keep those in mind at all times, AND if you can successfully turn your brain off and let her do all your thinking for you, you'll be just fine. And by "just fine," I mean "well and truly doomed."
