Anyone have chronic hives here? For the past 4 months I have been breaking out for no reason at all. Its not any type of bug bite, I have not changed to any new soaps. At first I took Benadryl with little relief so I changed it to Claritin, I took 20mg an was hive free from anywhere to 4 days to about 2 weeks. But now its not working anyone. I have been living in the bath tub taking oatmeal baths with little relief.

I get the hives on my feet top an bottom, calfs, thighs, hips, lower abdominal, upper arms an at times on my face like the hair line or around my lips. My breathing is always fine, I get a slight temp usually 99.8 to 100.3 but goes away by the end of the day. I'm not sure what I should do...go see a doc an get steriods, which I don't really want. I don't need to gain anymore weight. frustrated tears frustrated

Hey buddy! I would suggest washing your bed clothes. Give that a shot tonight, and check in tomorrow.

I wish you luck buddy!!!

I had a cousin who broke out in hives because of the cold weather. Good thing she lives in Sri Lanka and only came for a visit in autumn. Maybe its the weather?

Usually, when you have that, it's a reaction of your body to something because you are genetically predisposed. There may be things you were not allergic before, that you are now. It may be the preservative in the usual food you eat or an added ingredient to your usual bar of soap. What I did was to change my diet and tried to eat as many unprocessed foods as I can; organic, when it is available. It removed my itchiness, among other things.

I believe stress can also bring them on.

I believe stress can also bring them on.

I usually get them when I am stressing over something and haven't "recognized" it or how can I say....... when something is bothering me but not at a conscience level maybe.....in other words I am stressing and don't realize it.

I use calamine lotion on the outside and benadryl at night.

I also use relaxation techniques to help me get to a point of resolving the underlying stress. Breathing and visualizing seem to help me the most.

Hope that helps.

I do! Except mine are in the form of these red pimple like things that itch and cluster. I break out on my arms mostly and elbows.

I found out I was gettin them on my elbows because I am allergic to nickel. So not only did I have my belt buckle brand me on my lower stomach, but the button of my jean was a problem too. I found out nickel allergies can spread. So even though my allergy has to do with clothes I wear near my stomach, I was breaking out on my elbows. I obviously had to find a solution to clear things up.

I use Zyrtec because nothing else works as good. I had to switch my soaps, shampoos and everything else to everything Aveeno and earth friendly (like the 7th gen. products). See, your situation is what happened to me months ago. This suddenly started happening to me. I switched my laundry detergent, soaps, shampoos, etc to products without formaldehyde and harsh chemicals. It helped by 70%. Your body changes when it wants too. I would try the things i did because oatmeal baths never worked for me. A lot of people are allergic to formaldehyde and don't even know it. That type of chemical is found in a lot of every day things.

I stay away from air fresheners and such things as well potent candles. Everything I use hygiene wise is fragrance free and derm approved.

I did something similar. I started to eat an organic salad once a day and that has seem to help me also. I was also eating organic fruits for a while too which also helped.

hmm..thank you guys and girls.
I am stating to think its either from stress or the heat. I woke up today with another bad break out. The back of my thighs are so bad and the scar on my shoulder which hurts like no other. In the morning they tend to be the worse but by the time I get out of the shower an to work the itchy will stop for the most part. I will deff pick up some other meds to see if I can get them under control by myself instead of going to a doctor. But if I can't get it under control I will deff go see someone. I will try to destress today after work an try to stay cool...kinda hard with no AC lol. Yay fans!

I would not let this go on to long before you see a doc.And if your in pain, the hives could be very deep. And may reach the nerves.

They don't hurt all the time just depends on where they are. The bottom of my feet and on my scare hurt the worse. But I will go see a doc about it when I can find the time.
