You can't travel two paths.

it depends upon how committed either are to their 'belief' system

I imagine there would be some reason for someone to be committed to being 'not christian' that would cause quite a bit of conflict with someone who was committed to being 'christian'

Its hard to say. There isn't any mention of dating in the Bible that I can remember.

"Do not yoke yourselves together in a team with unbelievers. For how can righteousness and lawlessness be partners? What fellowship does light have with darkness? ... What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? ...For we are the temple of the living God - as God said, "I will house myself in them, . . . and I will walk among you. I will be their God, and they will be my people."

Therefore ADONAI says, "'Go out from their midst; separate yourselves; don't even touch what is unclean. Then I myself will receive you. In fact, I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters.' says ADONAI-Tzva'ot.(The Lord of Hosts) '" 2 Corin. 6:14-17 (CJB)

This isn't the LAW, but it's very wise advice. As human beings, we have a tendency to fall in love with the person(s) with whom we spend the most time. Yes, it's true that some partners can grow to believe after you're a couple; but it's not common. If this person doesn't have the same morals as you and doesn't get their guidance from the same source, there is going to be drama or worse. Why subject yourself to heartache?

Only if they're hot and a good person...

The risk is happiness...
