Topic: Movies that were great love stories... | |

Moulon Rouge comes to mind first. A classic about real forbidden and tragic love. "Never EVER fall in love with a woman who sells herself. IT will ALWAYS END BADLY!" the Narcoleptic Argentinean.
Ghost. I thought it was going to be a sticky romance with saccharin sweetness. I was so wrong about this movie. it actually turned out to just be a great move about love. It was tragic but it was love. Ye Woo Bie, a Korean Animated called Yobi the Nine Tailed Fox. This one was based on Korean Folk lore and also had aliens stuck on planet earth trying to get home. The fox Yobi has turned 100 years old and began to become an adult. In the course of the story she becomes involved with a group of kids in a special school and tries to fit in with them but accidentally begins to have emotions stir inside her for one of the boys int eh school who happens to like her (not knowing the human girl he is talking to is really a shape shifting fox). A priest is hunting the fox to kill her under the assumption she is out to steal souls. the boy she befriended winds up having to save her from the priest but in turn falls to his death and Yobi chases his soul into the afterlife and winds up having to make a hard decision. To save his life she has to sacrifice hers. If you are not crying by the end of this one you are a heartless beast! Wilder Napalm. Two brothers with the ability of Pyrokinesis and both love the same woman only one is married to her. Lots of fire, and singing Firemen! How can you not love singing firemen? Phantom of the Paradise. Let Paul Williams have his way with Phantom of the Opera. It was what Phantom of the Opera should have been. Again a tragic ending and love lies bleeding. |

great loves stories
I think the best is actually my favorite movie overall anyway and that is "Breakfast At Tiffany's" It is a great love story because the lovers are human - they make mistakes and love each other anyway and are not afraid to say what needs to be said to make it happen other movies with great love stories in my opinion are: Rocky (the love story steals the film) An Officer & A Gentleman Cinderella Man Peggy Sue Got Married The English Patient Shipping News (because it is so real) Out Of Africa |

Let the Right One In
This movie just about tops any romantic film I can think of. What else could exhibit love in its most quintessential form than a vampire who would not drink the blood of the object of her affection and a boy who would devote his entire life for his? |

There are only 4 questions of value in life Don Octavio,
What is sacred? Of what is the spirit made? What is worth living for? What is worth dying for? The answer to each is the same - Only Love. |

I have to go with two mention.

There are those who do not believe that a single soul born in heaven
Can split into twin spirits and shoot like falling stars to earth Where over oceans and continents their magnetic forces will reunite them Back into one But how else to explain love at first sight? We were convinced that there was no other life beneath the sky but ours We believed that we would never die... |
