So many people are worried about harming the planet but it will survive and recover after we humans have long died out. Whatever the Human race does will have little significance in the long run of the continuation of live on Earth.

Pollution: In time things dissipate, absorbed, buried.. etc.
- If we as a species completely mess up every, We will be the ones that pays for it.

Global Warming: The Earth has it's own methods of dealing with this; once the global temperature rises to a high enough, the Ocean's conveyor belts will stop, which means the currents that are bring heat to the Northern and Southern land masses will stop.. i.e. ICE AGE: lots of people are going to die.
Food shortage, War over resources, disease from overpopulations.. etc..

Extinction of Animals: It has happened many times in the past, and will so in the future. It's apart of live and even us Humans are subject to it. No doubt we are the ones that has caused it during our existence, but the onces that do survive will evolve to fill the gaps.. many other species may die out in the process but hey... it's life.

Annihilation of the echo system: Even if this happens, there will be species that will still survive somehow; while we humans will starve and die out.

Stop worrying that we are Killing the Earth! and start worrying that we are killing ourselves! The Earth itself will survive; it is up to us to decide on whether it is with us in it.. or without.

Its not that people are worried about harming the earth as much as people are sick of big oil, gas, mines and industry in general raping the land and leaving it looking like a festering anus without accepting any responsibility of clean up or the impact on wildlife.

Everyone knows the earth will recover. The ENTIRE purpose of "being kind to the earth" is to extend the amount of time US HUMANS can inhabit it.

It's going to take something Major before the majority will listen, which may involve bringing humanity to the brink of extinction. Currently money outweighs all else; you may feel a certain way, but there is no way you can speak for the majority of people just trying to survive.

Runaway Greenhouse effect is highly unlikely because the positive feedback effect is well below what is required.

well, when the last plant and the last
animal are dead then all will know it
was not the almighty dollar and the
oil that has sustained us...

what "Don't worry about the planet, worry about your survival??" what

We live on this planet, we need it in order to survive. If we do not take care of it, then it will no longer be able to sustain us.

Humans have a HUGE impact on the Earth. Wait until next month and tell me how hot it is compared to 5 years ago, ten years ago. This is not a natural phenomenon, it is ignorant man-made doom. And that's only one example.

Where does your food come from? Your water? Your clothes? The materials for your shelter? The materials for your car? The fuel for your car? The roads, the sidewalks, the buildings, the machinery, the things that you use everyday, what was "destroyed" to make these things? How much work has really gone into all of this and how much "destruction" and pollution was made in the process? How much of it can be used again? Will what you have for now last you for the rest of your life? Or will you need to suck up even more of the Earth's resources to create more? And just think, you are only one person out of how many?

The other part has to do with what is morally justifiable. It is not right to cut down the creature's forests for our firewood, just like it is not right for me to crap on your sofa because I was uncomfortable. Sorry monkey, I was cold. Sorry Jim, I had to go. spock

I'm wondering what kind of survival are you talking about here? From the picture, it looks like you're doing pretty good for yourself.

The planet is alive and conscious and was kind enough to allow us to live on its surface. It supports our lives, it provides our atmosphere. It feeds us.

Have a little respect for it. Your brain waves are in sync with the harmonics of this planet. It is part of us/you.

Love this planet. Don't just use it.

You don't know that the Jesus you worship is the Light and the life and the light of the Sun is his light?

What kind of Christian are you anyway?

I am fairly positive that when people refer to damaging earth, or harming earth, they mean the earth ability to support human life as we know it.

4.5 billion years old. In actual fact it is middle aged. So, in human years, lets say 40 years old. I cant imagine what it will look like in another million years. Nice and green. Ahhhhhh :) No humans most likely until another species evolve.

It has a long way to go.

Well and I hope your right, I can however imagine a waste land where all the various toxic materials used in daily industrial life scatter the surface of the earth lining the surface so deeply that no plant life can grow, this would prevent life from reabsorbing and redistributing the waste.

The examples of worlds unfit for the robust regenerative life we know and love are everywhere. Its the exception to the rule we call normal here on earth. I can easily imagine humanity destroying earths ability to host life forever.

I hope your optimism turns out to be predictive.

Try visualizing something more positive. If we create reality with our thoughts, yours is not helping much.
