as i looked at that picture only the sunset remained the same the unimaginable horror the ticking time bomb of mother nature i could not even think of one word out of a thousand i sat speechless motionless captured frozen how is this even real? how do you ever recover? when everything that was is gone or destroyed or blown 50 miles away or wrapped around that tree that isn't even there any more how do you step over that pile of rubble to sift through your life that you will never get back the irreplaceable things the taken for granted things the forever forgotten you even had things the image of them in your head but you can't bear to look because all you see is this. this. the silence echoes. .pause for a deep breath. "at least you made it through" is a questioned comfort for so many those words must mean little or nothing as they mourn the things the homes the life the people forever changed or gone others become grateful to know what they have can be taken so quickly away so completely destroyed but right now and probably never can we really truly appreciate those words to only hope we never have to is the most we can ever ask for to never know what they know. as i looked at that picture only the sunset remained the same yet i couldn't help but notice how it seemed so out of place the unchanging shining as it always does upon so much that had. |

Powerful, losing the things we will never forget and the things we forgot we even had. I liked that part. Mother nature sure knows how to dish out a beating-----

No, I believe it all of us who has experienced your words who should be thanking you. Though a picture is worth a thousand words it only takes 260 words to paint an indelible picture (yes I counted your words. I had too)

Good to finally read one of yours, Bastet. Strong stuff, you found the words when words weren't enough. It feels very freely written, liquid and moving.
