I sold my car to a stranger last friday, he asked me out on a date and I said I would love too.... Im not sure how he feels about it now, having driven my car for a few days. LOL. He may be having second thoughts... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

No way, I'm no fool. I don't want to associate with someone I can't stand. I'd think it was just another attension seeker, and they never last a week anyway.

How many of you would go on a date with somebody who just asks you out on the first Message?? I would, if she met all of my regular compatibility criteria. Of course, I'm an idiot. |

How many of you would go on a date with somebody who just asks you out on the first Message?? I think this is one small difference between online and real life. In real life, if a person walked up and said a few things, and asked me out,, I may go(its the only way to get to know them, other than phone calls or emails anyhow) but if we are on a COMMUNICATIONS venue like the internet, I would take that as the opportune situation to have whatever conversation we might have on a 'date',,,,its actually why I prefer online,, theres more conversation and less of the physical distractions,,, |

How many of you would go on a date with somebody who just asks you out on the first Message?? I guess that depends on what the first message says...and if there are dirty pictures involved (turn on? turn off? you decide! LOL!) |

How many of you would go on a date with somebody who just asks you out on the first Message?? Not me. That's like meeting a guy on the bus. Who is he really and where is he going? |

I have many times. I prefer to talk on the phone first though. Anyone can say whatever they like on the internet. If you meet them first in a public setting you can assess them quickly. I just say for a quick drink-that way you aren't stuck with them if you're not interested and I do it during the week, not on the weekend. I don't have time for constant emailing back and forth and I've been disappointed in the past thinking I was really going to like someone and then find out they are nothing like they write. This way I avoid all of that. this ![]() |

My first online date was at Olive Garden where he suggested we get the soup/salad combo because it was inexpensive. He then joked.."thats a big purse, do you have your spare panties and toothbrush in there?" Needless to say, that was our first and last date.

I prefer to talk on the phone first, meet in a public place for coffee, etc., then figure it out from there. I don't know if you'd actually call that a date.
In Sweden, lots of people go out for "fika", as it's called. Generally for coffee or a smoothie and some kind of pastry. It's not considered a date, just a social meeting of sorts because you could have fika with your teacher or your best friend's dad or just about anyone and it doesn't mean a thing. |
