Wallace D. Wattles:
In order to do this, man must pass from the competitive to the creative mind; otherwise he cannot be in harmony with the Formless Intelligence, which is always creative and never competitive in spirit.

That single thought right there could change the world if everyone would live by it. And that's true whether the original premise of "thought stuff" is true or not. bigsmile

Yes it is a most powerful thing to keep in mind when you see people clamoring to compete against each other.

Reminding lustful Christians in bars on Saturday night that just because the barstools aren't teak pews and there are no stained glass windows DOESN'T mean that Jesus isn't still watching them. :)

my religion is not about 'enjoyment' so this is difficult to answer except to say

my religion is christian and , over the course of studying about other religions, I dont feel any other religion makes as much sense or speaks to me as well as christianity does or even enough to cause me to turn from christianity

It was written and the spirit testifies to the truth:

"...a new name will be given you..."

I enjoy a little of every religion, spirituality, and new age ideas.

I also enjoy the minds of free thinkers, atheists, and agnostics.

I take out the good things and discard the negative ones from each reading. Is that healthy...some say yes and others say no, yet for me it works best and provides alot of peace amongst most.

I learned long ago we will never please everyone with what you know or believe. All you can hope for is to enjoy what you have and what you can do that moment with the lessons you learn each day.

I practice Nondenominational Christianity...it has helped me through many a hard time in my short life...but at the same time, I believe that with all the different beliefs throughout the world, they can't all be wrong...maybe we are all worshipping the same thing, just under different names...idk...jmho.

I have to say, Pornography.

It works for me, more than Osteoporotism or Glaucomic Cupping.

The origins? the advent of fantasy, the advent of imagination, as well as preserving photographic images and replicating them in great numbers.

I don't think creativity and competitiveness are mutually exclusive.

If they were, there would be no art grants, no literary short-story competitions, no art tenders to the city, no pay difference between one architect and another. If it were like this, then Jimi Hendrix would not be God by now, and Janis Joplin would not be a God's godless little Goddess.

my religion is christian and , over the course of studying about other religions, I dont feel any other religion makes as much sense or speaks to me as well as christianity does or even enough to cause me to turn from christianity

Muy goodness gracious. I am falling asleep here on my chair, and I can't focus well right now. I first read your first line,

"my religion is about 'employment' so this is etc."

I profusely apologize to you, but the concpet made me laugh. I mean, your present state of affairs.

I know I am being stupid, but if you can't laugh at your friends, whom can you laugh at?

I do believe in God. But I don't believe in religions

For me, I live how I want to.

I love people and treat them how I would like to be treated,

I believe in honesty, In helping where I can, in reaching out to anyone who needs me, In loving with everything in me, whether people want it or not.

I believe in finding something good in everything and in finding a way to enjoy what ever I am doing.

I believe that life is what I make it, I have chosen to make my life fun and carefree. I have choosen not to worry, and to just put aside what I can t fix.

If I want to be friends with the people noone likes I will be, if I want to ignore reality I will, after all what is reality..
I am just going to be me.

When I first read about what it means to be a Pastafarian I didn't think to myself, "This is what I really want to be." I realized I had been one all along. I just didn't know it yet.

That's the way I feel about both Buddhism and Wicca. These were simply philosophies and traditions that I already innately connected with and they were always part of me. I just wasn't aware of them until I had learned about them in some depth. bigsmile

I thought Buddhism and Wicca were close to what I was looking for at first. Like Christianity, they both had certain elements of merit. Yet they both also had elements of mysticism and supernaturalism that turned me away from Catholicism in the first place. So, I knew I had to keep looking.
