I went out on a date last night. Believe me I was surprised also. So dinner was wonderful with all the wonderful shyness and smooth talk - we went to this place where you can walk around and listen to bands - watched the sunset - it was all wonderful. UNTIL he took me to a "pub" he was familiar with to shoot some pool and started drinking IMMEDIATELY. After about an hour of his "schmoozing" I got sick of it and went to talk to the drummer of the band. AS a fellow drummer we had alot to talk about music wise and he asked me to sit in. So I get up there and sang an old No Doubt song that suits my low range and it was pretty good. AFTER that there were a few guys coming up to me and telling me it was cool and they enjoyed it. He was having none of it. I wasn't encouraging these guys - they were just being nice and talking to me. I wasn't flirting, I wasn't touching, no goo goo eyes - nada. He immediately clamped his arm around my shoulder and the next guy who came up, before he could even speak my date was like "yeah she was good - we know move along" OMG I was mortified. He was drunk, slobbery and being a total ass. I literally had to elbow him in the gut to get away....so this morning he calls me to take me to breakfast and I'm not much of a breakfast person so I told him no and now he's insisting I met someone "else" and what did he do wrong? I was raised with 5 older brothers who taught me to be strong, independent and all that crap and I am, but I also can appreciate a good relationship. I have never been in an abusive or alcoholic or BAD relationship (there's only been 2) and I'm not sure what to do - any advice? any? Tell him to go to hell? How can I explain what an ass he was? And when he makes up the obligatory "I was wasted" excuse - that's a whole NOTHER can of worms. I don't know what to do.

Tell him you're joining the Witness Protection Program. Either that or change your phone number and give him the number of the Chinese takeout so the next time he wants to act out his ignorance he can party it up with a plateful of #7.

YOU REALLY DO NOT NEED TO EXPLAIN YOURSELF. SIMPLY TELL HIM, GO STARIGHT TO HELL, AND LEAVE IT THERE. DON NOT ANSWER NOR RETURN ANY OF HIS CALLS. IF HE DID IT ONCE, HE WILL FOR SURE DO IT AGAIN.

Tell him straight out how obnoxious your found his behavior, and please don't bother you again. And if that doesn't work give him the #7:smile:

Yeah, I would just tell him that you think he drinks a little more than you'd like and acted kind of different when he drank.
Maybe if he hears it a couple times a light will go on. How long before you went out did you talk to him to see what kind of things he likes to do ? Sounds like going there was a major hobby.

You do not have to explain anything. Just tell him he is not your type and let it go at that. also tell him next time he calls not to call again. and if he continues you will call the cops

I met him in line at a grocery store believe it or not dumped my change out all over his stuff by accident - it was like one of those "moments" didn't think I'd ever see him again but I was picking up my dry cleaning - waiting in line and he walked up to my truck and introduced himself asked me out for coffee that was about 1 1/2 weeks ago - we hung out for the 4th no indication that he was such an ass watched the fireworks yada yada yada then this. Can he really be that threatened? I'm a nice person! I wouldn't flirt or hook up with another guy when I'm on a date. I was so just flabbergasted. *sigh* all I can say is...."NEXT" and I looked up #7 at the local chinese take out restaurant and it's the cumofsumyunguy platter he might like that!!!

You usually put your best foot forward in the first date. If that was his best, oh, boy. Stay FAR away from this ass clown. You sound and look like you can do a hell of a lot better than that loser.

This guy is an idiot. Don't call him again, don't see him again; if he's like this after one date, what will he be like after a month, or a year? I think you know the answer to this one ;)

Well...I would say his true self likely came out when he was drinking...Lucky for you to see it soooooo soon!!!!!! It's easy to pretend to be someone else with no booze....BUT when one consumes enough it can also act like truth serum!!!!!!!!!!

This guy is obviously jealous, controlling and has no respect for women...Just be glad you found out this early!!!!!!!!!

Being the nice person that you seem to be,you're first thought is probably to give him another chance. But in your Heart you most likely know that this will Not turn out as the relationship you are looking for.If you feel a little for him, maybe friends is the wat to go for now
