Or a journal, whatever term suits you.

How is this different from talking to yourself? If you utter your thoughts to yourself orally so as to understand them more concretely, you're crazy. If you write down your own thoughts on pages that no one else will ever read, you're introspective.

Oh, I get it... No wait, that's retarded.

I used to write a diary.
Then it fell into the wrong hands.

I had more than 3 of them filled with my young memories. When I started having mixed collections of good and bad memories - and went back to them after sometime, I realized I was just reliving the pains and heartaches those memories bring back. So I decided to get rid of all of them  Helped me have a better outlook in life though.

I used to write diary's as a teen, but now i use my online blogs for that. Especially when something is bothering me, or i'll write a song about it.

I write in my journal almost daily, it helps a lot. Ther's a big difference between talking to yourself and writing how you feel inside about a situation that might not be up for discussion with another person.

I think writing in a journal helps me maintain my emotiona and my sanity sometimes. Well in my case I'm coming off ending a great 6 year relationship that me and my ex mutaully agreed upon but it helps to write in a journal cause I lost my best friend, the one person I could confide in with out hestating. Now who can I talk to? No one but myself especially about how things are going after our seperation.

There's no one to share with anymore. I can't talk to her about how I feel about us. She's the subject of the topic. So my journal is my keeper of secrets my best friend.

Ugh maybe Crazy is right!

I tend to "journal" when I am working out a problem or am having a hard time sorting through options. It's helpful.

Otherwise I am talking to myself all the time...
Oh wait.
Uh-oh!
I must have a lot to sort through!

I've journaled before but never felt like I could trust it being left alone and private.

I do, however, keep a dream journal and find that to be helpful and interesting.

I write daily...I diarise my thoughts, ideas, sketches....colour swatches, pictures of plants, design gardens...

I write snippets of lyrics...poems...I draw a moment that has affected me profoundly...and then add in the text...

Anyone can read my private thoughts if they so wish to...however...having done so....their perception of me will be altered...and THEY have to live with it....not me.

I refuse to censor the Who of me....creatively or privately.

I am the same way. In a way. In a different way.

I never felt like anyone should be exposed to the damaging thoughts I would have, so as a means of self-protection (protecting myself from reading my own words) I stopped journaling as soon as I started it.

I now do that on the Mingle forums. My brother sells these glasses that allow people to read my stuff, but if reading through the glasses, you won't go to damnation, despite all odds.

He sells them at $7.99 plus shipping, handling and tax. Or you can make three easy payments of $33.33 each, and do not pay 'till October, 2016.

But wait!! If you order the special glasses now, we include a pocket self-writing diary. The pages will fill with letters, in front of you very eyes. Recommended for people with boring lives, for prison inmates, and for those who can't handle a pen due to extreme pain from arthritis.

Please call the number on your screen now. NOW!!! Goddammit... I said NOW!! The first one-hundred callers will recieve a special bonus!! A booklet, explaining how you ought not to fall for obvious scams, that are legal actually, and are advertised on tv.

When you talk to yourself, you forget the words down the road, the events, the emotions, the predicament.

If you write it down, you or anyone else who reads your journal much later, does not get the benefit of getting the same problem solved, but nevertheless, you or anyone else can get a different benefit. Sort of like your brother being able to blackmail you to not give your journal to your junior high crush, or to police who can use it to piece the events together, about why you burst into your grade three class and detonated three hand granades and seventeen smoke bombs.

I write stuff out.
I also write to people.
never actually give them to the people though.
I'm not claiming to be sane.
but it helps me understand me or the things around me.
mulitple personalities.
:D
hooray.

I used to have tons of journals that I had kept since I was very young. I lost them all years ago and I cringe to imagine them being read by strangers. I still journal, but hopefully I'll keep up with these this time. I also have an online journal that only strangers are allowed to read.
