Ever notice that 9/10 profiles of males include the phrase 'love the outdoors'?

Is it strange to love the indoors? because, honestly, given the choice Im gonna choose HVAC,furniture and electronics over dirt/sand/pebbles and the elements ANYDAY.....

Is my preference for INDOORS unusual in the sense that maybe someone who DOESNT like candlelit dinners would be?

which of your interests is hardest to MATCH?

they all just wanna look like cavemen

the most outdoors most prolly get is in the car to drive to the store to get batteries for the remote

what I don't get is why they think WE care. I crack up when I read the profiles that say must love camping....ummm. no ...I must not and I will not, and yes you cheapskate PAY FOR A HOTEL ROOMlaugh why they think we want to touch their slimy fish and sleep in a tent when we could eat at a seafood joint and sleep at the Hilton, is beyond menoway

Some women do. I do, though I prefer camping in comfort anymore, as my back can't take it. I'm also a fan of showers, so hot and sweaty from being outdoors is actually more fun when there's a shower to play in afterwards. laugh

I have to say, while I haven't gotten a chance to go away for a week, I really like my parents travel trailer and want one of my own!

I also love being outdoors hiking/walking, riding my bike, or even enjoying the still after a new snow

and yes I know there are women who enjoy camping, I am not one of them, and I hope equusdancer that you get ur dream trailerflowerforyou

but what I find funny is that men seem to put it on profiles like it is going to make them more attractive somehow.

To me it says - if we travel we won't be staying in a hotel, and I will be off running around on the great white hunting grounds with many braves while you, woman, slave in kitchen and sleep alone many nights

yuckfrustrated

I think when most women say it they mean they enjoy getting outside, gardening, walking, what ever, not necessarily camping. alto I think most men do mean camping and such..

I think the whole camping thing is a yearning to live simply quietly among the gifts of the earth that God gave us

often it ends up being rain soaked campfires, ants in the picnic, and the Joneses with 17 kids under the ages of 5 parked right in the next campsite overlaugh

I see alot who actually qualify their interest further with things like 'love ANYTHING outdoors' ,, accompanied by interests like camping, fishing, hiking,,,,

seriously, I think I see this mentioned on mens profiles more than I do sports

when did this big outdoors movement begin and why are we still such an obese country if this is truly representative of men in general?

exactly - I think it is a romantic yearning more than a common reality for much of the talk of it, and you see ones who say they love ANYTHING outdoors...oh my, my imagination is doing backflips now....ANYTHING? REALLY?

I don't think it's strange at all to love being outside. When the weather is nice, I'd definitely like to find something to do outside, rather than sitting on the couch.

So do you think when they write their interests are hunting, fishing, hiking and sports....THEY EXPECT US TO GO with them or they just WANT US TO KNOW they do those things?

Cause I have never even touched a gun,

I'll cook the fish but I don't like fishing,

and I figure why hike when you have a perfectly good car,

well sports please...

I'll go camping but you will wish you had never brought me along (NEED A LOTA CHEEZ TO GO ALONG WITH THAT WHINE)...unless we have a nice cabin with indoor plumbing, jacuzzi, fireplace and nice plump pillows...
