Wow the Baby boomers are reaching retirement. Will there be any Social Security Left? How many people are healthy enough to continue to work until they are 70? |

If these young politicians cut our social security they are going to have a large population of RED people on their hands. RED means, "Retired and extremely dangerous." Granny, get your gun. |

They don't care. I fear that we are getting into a political discussion here. A lot of people don't like that.

Old people will slow down the whole country and bring things to a screeching halt.
Here are some tips for the resistance: 1. Take forever getting through checkout lanes, write a check. 2. Drive in the passing lane real slow. 3. Complain and raise a fuss to any business that does not give senior discounts. 4. Pay your bills with small coins. Count them out very slowly. 5. Picket in your hoover-round or wheel chair. Any more suggestions will be appreciated. |

I love it! Reminds me of some of the guerilla tactics suggested by student protestors in the 60s. (eg. Don't just count your change out slowly. Drop it on the floor first. That was an actual suggestion ).

Another thing would for old people to apply for jobs and insist if they aren't hired that they will sue for age discrimination. Then when they are hired, they can really reek havoc...even at McDonalds.

Be sure to leave your turn signal blinking. Peole hate that. Fumble through all your pockets to find your reading glasses when you're using the card reader at the grocery store.
This could go on all day. |

The young ones at work ask me why I come in so much. They are like here today and gone tomorrow. I can remember my dad saying since I didn't stay in the military that I couldn't retire at 37 like he did. He was still working till the day he past away. Some folks think that retiring and not working any more are the same thing.

So true. I wanted to do computers as a hobby and having fun fixing up the old ones. People have just been giving me the old stuff. I am doing some work on my old house as a past time and that has been fun, too.

Thirty years ago I suggested to the local congressman that SS be discontinued and replaced with an "everyone has to invest in an IRA or 401K". My logic has always been I don't want to bankrupt my chidren and grandchildren through taxes. I hate to be the negative one but if something doesn't change SS will go broke well before I'm six feet under.
While I can retire at 62 I want to remain active and busy in the career that I chose (electronics). My retirement will be at 66. I may retain a part time job but that would depend on how much of the part time job income is subtracted from SS. |

Then, if there is no SS, I'm **** out of luck. |

I will NEVER retire, except when I die.
Work gives me a reason to do things, just work ALOT different than I used to. Shooting for 85 & then will see what I want. |
