A few yrs ago...a lot of yrs ago, I bought a house at Van Horn...had three stories, built into the side of a hill. We had on heck of a winter storm..my water froze, for 10 days. I came home from work one night..heard water running...down the stairs and into my den.. I literally had to sweep the water out the door...took hrs! Luckily the house was stone and cement..no carpet..ruined some furniture and cabinets....talk about a mess!!  It ruin 10 boxes of books when it happen to me. |

Yeah I was afraid of the pipes busting hopefully they will not freeze up again....

I've got my water running a slow run in both sinks and heaters in front of them with the cabinets open...so far it's worked. Hope yours stay ok.

Dayum!!!! The weather is on and now they are saying that we're not going to warm up anytime soon!!!  They said Friday at first...now it may be next week!!!

It took 6 minutes to freeze a 16.5 oz bottle of water outside.

I've got my water running a slow run in both sinks and heaters in front of them with the cabinets open...so far it's worked. Hope yours stay ok. Yeah that is what I have done now too....  Hey Carol how ya doing hope your staying warm..... Heck it don't freeze that fast in the freezer Jeff...

I will let you know when it does freeze in the freezer. I have one in there now. I was talking with the guy next door. We decided to see how fast one would freeze.

howdy y'all. woke up this morning to no electric and frozen water pipes. the power comes and goes. i finally caught a news report that texas is under brown outs. they purposely shut power down here so that other places can get power. if they didn't do that, then some places would lose power totally. seems the energy has two plants under construction so power supply is down. i got water to some parts of the house. funny thing is that two days ago i tried to drain my water heater and there was still a lot of air in the pipes. i think i've got some iced and some air filled, hope none of them bust

 I didn't have elec this morning either...damn it was cold!! But it came back on after a few hrs..still had water though.

I never lost power and was fortunate enough to get my pipes thawed out after having to blow my pipes  Heck I even put a small heater under the house for a bit as well. I do hope you get the water going again and none of them burst.. |

the power has been on for several hours now, and the power company promised to notify before they cut power again. as for the water, i got cold water, but the hot is no go at least until tomorrow when i can get under the house

You know that is bs turning the heat off like that on everyone. And they are saying they are going to do it tomorrow again for some. Not sure who all will be effected by it.
ese I hope you can get the hot water going hell I know how it is without hot water not fun
