Ok. When I was in High School, and I was dating, of course you would send flowers, or candy to your girlfriend. It was the "thing" to do. Hell, we had our chorus group (a small ensemble of dudes) go around singing songs to chicks from there boyfriends during class time. It was classy, sappy, and romantic. And, well, it didn't hurt that when you did that for your girl, she was probably gonna "reward" ya later that night. Hehe!
Anyways, as I have grown up, I too wonder why it is we feel this need to treat this one day out of the year as if we should always (and only) go all out for it. If you love someone, you don't need one day to do something special for him or her. I feel it is silly, but I also feel that if you treat it as a day to maybe do something nice for him or her, then cool. Just don't use this one day as the only day of the year to do something like that. |
