The Garden of the gods is a rock formation that the local Indians would do their dances. The area is nice to walk and think. The deer come right up to you. The one park ranger I talked with said they had some rocky mountain big horn sheep there yesterday.

Oh wow! that sounds like a beautiful place! After several trips to Montana, the Missoula area, I finally saw my first male big horn sheep.. I came around a curve and they (2) were waiting to cross the road..of course my camera was in the back seat and lots of traffic....no pics..isn't that the way it always is...lol

It is a place I like to go to, just to sit and think. Walk some of the trails. The wild life is in the park most of the time. During the summer months take the telescope.

If you take the Pike Peaks road to the top, the rocky Mountain big horn sheep are just walking around the edges.

I saw my first females the second time to MT..same area.. there was a sigh that said " watch for the bighorn sheep".. so I was looking on the sides of the mountains, they were in a field right along side the road.. Duh!!!

They are a sight to see indeed. There was a herd of 15 deer just wandering around.

When I get out there, you will have to take me there...I saw my first mountain goats summer of 09 on my big trip out west. We were taking the road up and across Glacier Natl Park...they were laying on the rocks right along side the road...I was thrilled!!
