Hummm I live in Texas soooooooooooooo nope have never been. My son got to go to Colorado over Christmas and New Years this year and was able to try the snowboarding for the first time. He messed up went to the bigger slop instead said he fell about 100 times but made it down and was finally able to get going on the snowboard.

I doubt that I will ever go but would love to go to a ski resort town to enjoy the snow and watch others sking...well and maybe go down the baby slop hehehe:laughing:  bigsmile
well its really amazing watching the pro's live at the ski place they go down like its nothing and some do flips even thou they say not too:) but yes you can sit at a bar or a resturant in resorts there and watch or try it its fun:) as for snow boarding i know kids love it too:) its not as easy as it looks either:) waving  flowerforyou

I went Skiing down hill years ago at Hidden Vally Resort i tried going down 1 of the toughest hills and it was my first time skiing but i did ok its really hard at first but you kind of catch on if you got a good balance and go back and forth side ways ,but it was funny thou the first time i went down a hill full blast and almost ran in to people i ended up in the parking lot of the hotal lolllll and slid right to the front door i was lucky there was no cars driving by ,it was a bit of a smaller hill but still really huge you need ski lift to get up top lol i couldnt stop was funny thou someone said to me after near the door did you try to do that i said na first time i been skiing but they said looked great cause went up a curve around 3 feet in the air down the hill and flew in the parking lot and went off course best thing was there was cold beer there and said dam its time to relax that was first day there tell you the truth was scared i was going to run into a car lolllllllll but was lucky:)after that i went down the hills slower haha  waving

Tried many different things but skiing wasn't one of them

Went skiing as a kid (14) at Glorietta New Mexico and LOVED it.

Few years ago a friend won lodging and lift tickets for six for snow boarding Angel Fire, New Mexico.....two days and two nights

IT was a great trip, a gorgeous mountain, Hung out with 5 good friends had a blast.

yes - I've skied the face at Whiteface Mtn YAY
and here in Ohio at Mad River Mtn
also been skiing in at Snowshoe in Maryland (I think that's what it was called - it's supposed to be in West Va., but I'm pretty sure were actually in MD)

Even tho I am from Pa. I have never skiied in the Poconos - I went to college up there but didn't start skiing until after I graduated and moved to New York State - hence Whiteface

skiing?no

tumbling?yes smokin

heheh...me too... I barely made it off the bunny hill. I would get going so fast because I wasn't 'swishing' the skis back and forth. So I would just fall down and tumble to stop myself...ouch.

I use to go skiing a lot when I lived up in Washington State, I did not just stick with one place though I went to different places but there were a couple that were close to home so I could go there every weekend easily. You get in trouble if you get caught but we use to take the lift up and then go down the backside of the mountain because it was crazy that way...lol

I've been a skier since I was 5 and skied everywhere around western Canada and the US NW but the best ever was heli skiing at Blue River, BC.
