Topic: Clapton is NOT God | |
---|---|
Sure "Cream" broke ground and was amazing! Sure the man has a "touch" and just "feels" things.....but
Of all "Yardbirds" based guitarists......"Clapton" is God?? I don't get it. |

THANK YOU!!!
I love the acoustic Layla, but if I have to hear 'WONDERFUL TONIGHT' one more bar, I'm gonna fly to england and stab him in the eye! |

Clapton a god? Have a day off! He's good, but the one TRUE god was steve marriott, great singer, songwriter and guiterist.

We will not consider Andrew Topham.... Beck is the best technician out of the Yardbird's guitarists, but Page combined songwriting, producing, and prodigous skill to become what can only be described as a wizard... Clapton has had his moments, but I'm not sure he rates with those two.
In retrospect, if anyone from the Yardbirds would be considered a "God," I'd say it is Page. |

Eric is close to being God, but Paul Mcartney was way up there.

Eric is close to being God, but Paul Mcartney was way up there. John Lennon's got them beat, he's already in heaven. |

Ginger Baker was the most kick assest musician in that band. |

There are all sorts of music gods out there.....
Clapton is good....but wouldn't rank in the top thousand for me. |

well motherless children - who is then? I'm pretty sure it's not Clapton. I would guess its an un-sung hero like Brendon Small, who does all of the music for the cartoon band Dethklok on Metalocalypse. |
