I still watch this movie every holiday season. Anyone still beleive, "It's a Wonderful Life".

It's sappy. Excruciatingly picturesque. Painfully preachy. I adore it of course.

The movie is fantastically romantic and teaches us to appreciate what we have... It's not realistic for the most part but it's a great movie...

haha-went to an improv theatre a few weekends ago with that movie as the show theme! It was so effin' hilarious..

If you haven't I highly recommend reading Jean Shepherd's book "In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash"- Shepherd adapted many of the stories in there into A Christmas Story, the leg lamp comes from the chapter "My Old Man And The Lascivious Special Award That Heralded The Birth Of Pop Art" The book has Ralphie as an adult returning home and visiting an adult Flick(the kid who stuck is tongue to the pole) who now owns a bar, they reminisce about their childhood and teen years.

It's A Wonderful Life is excellent....just stay clear of the awful 70's remake with Marlo Thomas.

I just love all the old sappy Christmas movies. I bought a copy of Holiday Inn and White Christmas this year.
