How do you cope with the holidays alone?

Who is ever truly alone at Christmas?

me because everyone thinks im fat

It's not so hard compared to all the family crap I have put up with in the past. I'll probably just get drunk and pull out my old albums and listen to some music........

Food - drink - Music ..... Computer.

I just treat it like any other day -- being alone is being alone, the calendar is irrelevant....

I just think how lucky I am to be in a warm house, warm bed, full stomach of food, and have my health. Others are not so fortunate; are living on the streets, and they are truly alone.

Without friends, family or purpose
you can be alone anywhere.
But if you let others in your head, you

Regardless if it is the Holidays or not I find stuff to do read go see a movie take myself out to eat or get online. There is always ways to keep one occupied in order to pass the time away..

Well, if you think that is the problem; then lose the weight. I lost 40 pounds myself. Fact is most of us are alone on the holidays and weight has nothing to do with it. Rather than feeling sorry for yourself; go out and volunteer at one the drop in centres and see for yourself just how well off you are. While you complain about being fat; think of those starving out there. Sorry if I sound nasty, but there are more things in life way worse than being overweight. Try losing your job and almost losing everything you own. I went through that a short while ago. Count your blessings.

I guess I have my little boy with Down syndrome who keeps me very busy. It's hard going to the ER alone though and boy I wish life were different for us, BUT U count what U do have and U focus on the gifts we all take for granted. Alone can be much better than with someone and miserable.
