Two things:

1. That he was not a chosen man, shows that God plays favorites, and favors certain people over others. How loving is that if He doesn't love equally? Would you love one of your own kids more then another? I don't think so.

2. Disobedience. This is a big word, says a lot to me. Says, obey, obey, obey, never question, just obey, and be punished if you don't. Why does this seem familiar? Oh I know, our government does the same thing! Coincidence? Somehow I think not. All religion is an invention of man to control, it does not speak for God and never did. There is no way a truly loving God would be upset at one questioning what they are told, or would seek such obedience as you describe.

The problem is Kleisto that you are arguing with people who are incapable of comprehending these things.

You're right that the bible was written by very dubious and crafty men to control the masses using fear and threats that they should not question the word of God. And thus the people who have bought into there brainwashing scheme are precisely the kinds of people who fall for this sort of thing. So that's who you end up having to argue with because those are the only people who are naive enough to continually support this kind of nonsense.

Ab, it a new day, so I guess you forgot previous facts.

The Bibles tells us to question everything!

Where is your proof otherwise???

Peter Pan,

I understand why you take it personal,

I take it personal, because it was clearly a personal attack bearing false witness against me.

Evidently you have no ethics or moral values at all.

That's your opinion.

Where are your facts to back that claim up?

Oh really?

Well, then the Christians should recognize me as being a saint then. Since I question that the Bible itself is the word of God.

In other words, I'm OBEYING GOD, by questioning the Bible itself.

What more could the Christians possible want?

They have no choice but to confess that I'm a Saint then. Doing precisely as the Bible teaches me to do, QUESTION EVERYTHING. flowerforyou

Assuming you're correct of course.

We'll have to see if Cowboy agrees with you on this. He interprets the Bible differently than most.

Am I obeying God by questioning that the Bible is the "Word of God" Cowboy?

And what source do we turn to for a final answer in the matter?

Clearly we can't turn to the Bible since it is the scripture that is in question.

So now what do we do Cowboy?

You the one who's doing that.

Now you're apparently trying to direct attention away from your claim that the Bible teaches us to question everything.

Do you deny writing these words?
"You're right that the bible was written by very dubious and crafty men to control the masses using fear and threats that they should not question the word of God"

I have my proof, the challenge was directed to you first.

*I predict there will be no proof of Abra's claim written above in red.*

Peter Pan,

I have no need to prove an opinion. And that's all that is. An opinion. Just as it's an opinion of those who claim that the Bible is the word of God.

It's no different.

In fact, I'm glad you brought this up because I will indeed confess that this is my opinion. And thus I need no proof to hold it.

Now, if the Christians can confess that their claim that the Bible is the "word of God" is just their opinion we'll be all set.

However, if they claim that the Bible is the word of God in some way that is more than just their opinion, then it's up to them to provide PROOF of that outrageous claim (other than just because the authors of the Bible claim that they speak for God). After all, many mythologies claim to speak for their Gods and Goddesses. So having an author proclaim that they are speaking for a God is not impressive.

~~~~~
Now Peter,
You made the claim that the Bible TELLS US to question everything.
Can you prove that claim?
Or is that just your opinion? spock
~~~~

If it's just your opinion, so be it.

However, if you're holding it out as an absolute truth, then show us where it says this?

I think that would be great!

If the Bible tells us to question everything, and the Bible is part of everything, then we must question the Bible. Sounds great to me. drinker

LOL! You fulfill my prediction yet again... no proof...
You never said it was your opinion, why change your story now?

Is it because this is just like your numerous claims of what the "BIBLE DEMANDS" or what Christians "MUST" believe?

You've never provided proof of those claims either, so are you saying they were all opinions? Now that is something I can agree with...

Funny, you are the one who makes that claim... Now that you confess it's merely your opinion, I want to see your PROOF of your outrageous claim.

LOL, of course I can prove it, when have I not been able to back up my claims?

Tell you what, you make a blanket apology for not specifying that your outrageous claims are merely your own opinions and I'll tell you where to find the "proof" you desparately seek. drinker
