Some people will lie, cheat, and steal. Some people will be honest, fateful, and always true. Even fewer will remind us that humanity still exists even if only in minimal sums. I've known liars, cheaters, and thiefs. I've known the honest, fateful, and always true...and I've been graced with the presence of the fewer that remind me humanity is still existant. Here's to the few, those that still show glimpses of humanity even in tough times and struggle. I'm not sure you know how important you are.

some good.... some bad........ some just chuggin along to their own beat..... we just gotta reach out.... touch each others hand.... make this world a better place..... if we can..... (why did i just see a figment of Diana Ross? )

I hardly ever understand your point of view, however, it is obvious you don't really like the thread...so, uh, why do you keep coming into it? Oh, I like the thread. You see I'm a huge fan of irony. I actually wasn't gonna come back until you quoted me. Until you quoted me with your dehumanizing remarks contradicting your so-called hope for humanity. I could see if you weren't guility of any of the proveribial lies, cheating, and stealing you mentioned, but... my spidey sense just tells me that isn't true. So, umm, yeah. That's why I keep coming back.

These people have committed 3/4 of their lives to caring, teaching and showing their children with a disability the skills to lead an independent life. They scarifice part of their dreams in life to support another to lead a relative normal life. That is a partial part of humanity :) |

That is a partial part of humanity :) I've worked with people who have additional problems to overcome most of my adult life. The parents sacrifice more in todays world with the young ones but the older people with disabilities are left to the care and love of others. Rarely have I encountered a person who gave up their dreams, because it all is entwined together. Just as you must have the ability to step out side the box to do this kind of work, the same holds true for parents. People will be selfish if they are so inclined and having a child with special needs will not change them all that much. And people with empathy in their hearts to help another simply realized we are all in this together and that will be the only way clearly out of the mess the rest of the human population has created. And just as one bad apple will make the rest look bad, am always reminded of the saying: 'The more people I know, the better I like my dog' or something along those lines. |
