i had a guy awhile back(on mingle)
he had given me his email addy
so of course respond to him
he aparently lived over in indipendence oregon(which is about a hour away from me
he was such a idiot for he had ask me how was the weather in my area. and i sat there and i said point blank if your weather should be the freaken same as mine... he gave me a phone number that wasent even a oregon number....i block his butt and he didnt even try to contact me again

i knew this guy yrs ago.
he was a health nut
and he always did the lotto in differnt states
and some how he got in contact with this one lady (he didnt have a computer)
but he ran a dating site from his home..
he eventually closed that down

but any how im not sure on how he met this lady for she lived
in the philapines (mistake spelling)
any how he actually went there married her but she never came back with him
have no clue on what actually happen
i havent seen this guy in many yrs or even talked to him
(this guy was a older gentalman)
and he was on a fix income
have no clue on how he ever got the extra money

the last i heard he had moved in with his brother for he had altimers (his brother did)

In the past two days, I have been flooded by interest from women who live 800+ miles away from (according to profiles)....mostly from SE Asia & Pacfific or from the southern US. Most of them are in their 20s....I am 39. Some of these have to be scammers, others are probably agents for a matchmaking service. I try to verify identities, and usually I find that the age or location is wrong. The age may be 20 years older, or the location might actually be in another part of the country. Sometimes, I find other website profiles (using the email address they gave me) with information that also does not match up.

Now to be fair, until this week I had no such problems on this site. BUT, they have been contacting me on my email and YM when I never gave them the info. It is mentally exhausting trying to figure out who is real and who is not when you are in a rapid-fire bombardment. A few of these fakes have been removed by the site admin almost immediately, and the fake didn't even realize it! LOL Anyhow, I've encountered scammers more on other sites. It just seems that there are a couple of them trying to slip through the cracks right now, creating multiple profiles.

Today I have not received any such contact, so I hope the admin has gotten a handle on it. My mind was Jello last night.

If you have encountered similar problems, just hang in there. The scammers usually do get weeded out, either by the admin or yourself.

I received e-mail from Mingle2 saying that someone wanted to meet me, but in order to find out who it is, I would have to upgrade my account.

A person who wants to meet me can send me a private message.
I'm not going to pay money just to find out that the person lives half way around the world from me.

I've had the same problem but I have ran across over 1 on this site and one I'm not sure about. In the pass 18 months I have had over 75 scamers contacting me. I really looked into this scaming stuff and found out that most of them that say they are women... LOL! There not, all they are, are men and women going to a internet sweet house trying to scam a buck. There's a site that has a lot of info on of known scamers and the photos of pics they have stolen. Romance Scam dot com and dot org.

That would be impossible for any site to do. That is why we rely on members reporting them either through the profile or email.



That would be Mutual Match. MM is merely a fun way to connect with others. Members were only told who said yes or maybe to them. the added feature for the upgrade is to see who said yes to them.



even with just emailing, people can lie. It happens everywhere. Any site can only do so much without the help of the members reporting it. This is one of the best sites at clearing scammers. I know of a site that doesn't because it boosts their number count.

I just was contacted by someone from Ghana.... listed as from Philadelphia. Also have been contacted by a few others of late. One even IM'd me on my Yahoo account....and is listed on a scammer list in the Netherlands. No wonder I can't find anyone on these sites. I've read more than one profile on multiple sites where women are fed up with scammers and sex hookups.

Beware, had one carry on for two months with a "relationship" Red lfags relaly went flying when he said he was having a financial issue" He tried explaining out of it, BUT I already was suspicious, Let the website know, Next thing -- he;s gone. I reported his rearend to a few dating scammer sites. You can;t be too careful, or trusting nowadays. They are everywhere.
