Anybody hear nancy Pelosi yesterday?....she said she wanted the government to run capitalism....(I aint a bright guy, but thats not capitalism at all...is it?). It's called Socialism. I can't wait until shes gone in November. Either way Democrat's are jumping ship and she will lose her speaker position or if we take the House back as planned I doubt she will get elected Minority Leader. |

it could be many things(in addition to the usual communist charge)
from the cia world factbook Commonwealth - a nation, state, or other political entity founded on law and united by a compact of the people for the common good Confederacy (Confederation) - a union by compact or treaty between states, provinces, or territories, that creates a central government with limited powers; the constituent entities retain supreme authority over all matters except those delegated to the central government Constitutional - a government by or operating under an authoritative document (constitution) that sets forth the system of fundamental laws and principles that determines the nature, functions, and limits of that government. Constitutional democracy - a form of government in which the sovereign power of the people is spelled out in a governing constitution. Democracy - a form of government in which the supreme power is retained by the people, but which is usually exercised indirectly through a system of representation and delegated authority periodically renewed. Federal (Federation) - a form of government in which sovereign power is formally divided - usually by means of a constitution - between a central authority and a number of constituent regions (states, colonies, or provinces) so that each region retains some management of its internal affairs; differs from a confederacy in that the central government exerts influence directly upon both individuals as well as upon the regional units. Oligarchy - a government in which control is exercised by a small group of individuals whose authority generally is based on wealth or power. I kind of think we will always be an oligarchy, because money is power,, |

Sorry, but that's either Fascism (Privately owned businesses, with business practices dictated by the Government) or Communism (The government owns all businesses). Besides, you have confused political ideology (Fascism, Communism, Capitalist) with a power structure (Oligarchy, Confederacy, Democracy), they are two different things. Explain to me: How would the state owning all businesses be "limited power"? That directly eliminates a confederacy and a constitutional form of government. |

no desire to debate semantics right now,, my managers run the office where I work, but they dont OWN it,,,,these are two different roles actually,,, But the owners pick the managers, right? And they can fire them right? If the government ran capitalism, Either a) the owners couldn't fire your managers or b) The government would own the office where you work. and my definitions come straight from the cia world factbook under government types not ideologies we just dont see many of them in play in modern times,,but I did post those in which government would 'run' things either in limited or assigned capacities... The definitions are accurate, but they don't apply! It's as if someone said "An animal just flew past my window" and you said "It could be a pig or a cow or a dog". I respectfully submit, if an animal flew past a window, it was a bird or a bat. |

But the owners pick the managers, right? And they can fire them right? If the government ran capitalism, Either a) the owners couldn't fire your managers or b) The government would own the office where you work. Doesn't it depend on exactly what is meant by the word 'run' in this conversation? What level of micromanagement are we talking about here? To some extent, the US government has been 'running' capitalism for a long time. The definitions are accurate, but they don't apply! It's as if someone said "An animal just flew past my window" and you said "It could be a pig or a cow or a dog". I respectfully submit, if an animal flew past a window, it was a bird or a bat. |

To some extent, the US government has been 'running' capitalism for a long time. That is true, our government does put burdensome regulations on many businesses. It wouldn't be unfair to say our government is run with a slightly fascist tinge. Presidents Wilson and Roosevelt were actually proponents of fascism, before it became unfashionable. The definitions are accurate, but they don't apply! It's as if someone said "An animal just flew past my window" and you said "It could be a pig or a cow or a dog". I respectfully submit, if an animal flew past a window, it was a bird or a bat. I stand corrected. |

I kind of think we will always be an oligarchy, because money is power,, Plutocracy is the rule of wealth. The combination of both plutocracy and oligarchy is called plutarchy. While money and power are major motivators for many people, it is actually ideology that is driving the world (to ruin). |

In either case, Nazi Pelosi is finished. She had her chance, and we have seen her true colors. We know what she stands for and what she wants.....and none of it is inline with what the people want, or what is good for the country.

I have a bad feeling that if Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi get the boot in November that Obama already has spots in his cabinet for them.
