Ok, not a pet story, but when I was still working with big cats we took one (a 2 y/o tiger) down to Gulfport Ms. To the grand casino for a promotion they were doing. Our accommodations fell through, so I rented a room at the casino and had to sneak him up to it in the middle of the night. Now keep in mind here that he weighed about 250 lbs at the time, but still very much a baby.
After sharing a bed with him all night and waking up to him all snuggled around me with his hot moist breathing on the back of my neck, I really needed a shower. While in there, I was shock when he leapt into the shower with me; tearing down the curtain, (rod included) knocking me to the floor and having his own “not so private” pool party….it took me nearly 20 minutes to get him out of there. He just wouldn’t stop playing!!! |

I had run into town one morning and when I came back, Belladonna was standing at the door done up in makeup wagging her tail all excitedly. Mom had gotten bored and thought it would be amusing to put blush, eyeliner and shadow on the dog. Apparently she stood for it, and thought she was hot stuff. She actually looked pretty good all done up.

I had a miniature wired haired dochshund that used to find cattle bones 3 times his own size (I live in the country), he'd drag them home, pile them up and then sit on top of the heap as if he were the king of the world.....

I figured that out after that night, so after our photo shoot was finished that first day and we did our public appearance commitments, I took him out to the beach and we ran around and played for a couple of hours. Then the police showed up! guns drawn, I might add....you see, there are an awful lot of strange occurrences around the Gulf of Mexico, but as one of the 6 police officers told me (in a very perplexed fashion) a guy and a tiger swimming and running on their beach is just something one doesn’t see too often. Ha-ha!! I tried to explain to them that it wasn’t out of the ordinary for us and we did manage to avoid jail that night, so all worked out and he was much more docile the next morning after such a long day. |
