Topic: Are internet people real | |
---|---|
Everything I need to know about sombody I learn from their eyes. Whether it is the twinkle that asks for a kiss or the furowed eyebrows that disagree with what you say, reguardless of the words that come out of somebody's mouth. The eyes tell the true story.
Typed words are a very sterile form of communication. Gauging emotions is nearly impossible, words and commitments are easy to break, and personalities are easy to fake. Which leads to the question; Are the people you talk to on the internet real, or is it a liars paradise? There is no real answer to the question, because it is a combonation of real people trying to express who they are and how they really feel and people that use it as a way to preend to be somebody they are not. I just wonder where the majority lies. |

Eyes are organs that are controlled by muscles; organs have no sense of right and wrong and muscles can be trained, so I would think one would have a more reliable barometer than this.
Perhaps someone’s actions or history? |

Perhaps someone’s actions or history? The question you should be asking yourself is what is controlling the muscles, It is not the liver, stomach, intestine, or most organs that are considered reactionary. the eyes are also reactionary, the real question is what are they responding to? |

Some people are genuine and authentic and some are not.
There are layers of communication. I agree with you that emails are very 2-dimensional...we miss the cues of proximity, of tone and inflection. Our brains fill in the details we are missing and our brain never fills them with things we don't like ... hence the falling in and out of love quickly online syndrome ... Telephone communication allows for tone and inflection ... misunderstandings are easier to guage ... humour can be detected that sometimes get missed in type. Webcam allows another layer ... body language, eyes, nervous cues, shyness ... but we still miss big pieces like touch and smell In Person we have all layers of perception in play ... and still it takes time in the real world to know if you have a connection that transcends the screen. I have known many people who had incredible chemistry mentally and emotionally ... clicked in type, on the phone and on webcam ... but it fell flat in person. You just never know ... Sure there are genuine people but that is just a piece of the equation. And yes ... the internet is also a liars paradise ... when we communicate in type ... all we have to go on is their words ... |

<---- Max Headroom´s love child.... ...hey, I just realized that's the borg queen on your avatar... |

I don't get it either. Seems people would want to be honest...there's always a chance of meeting someone and they are going to find out who you truly are, eventually. So why why put on a show...but then...if people do this, they can't be serious about searching for "the one"....jmo

<--------am a figment of a mass hallucination.
This is not me, nor my youngest children, nor my friend's dog...these are random strangers that happened to be dressed like me, my youngest children and my friend's dog... |
|

|
I'm not real... really.
|
|
|
|
I am a pigment of my dogs imagination. I am here to feed them, and humor them, and currently, act as the chew toy for the youngest one.

The eyes can also lie.
Ever play poker? |

And don't forget, everything has to filter through your eyes too. Perception is reality? |

My body doesn't tell anything, my words tell the truth.
If you try to read my body, you're missing the most of me. |
|

The eyes also tell on you. I mean, ever been out with your lady and you see a hot, big boobed chick with a phat azz walk by and your eyes just "lock on" to her? Yeah. Your woman sees that and knows that you were lusting. Have to come up with a quick response to that. Normally I say go with the line of "Oh baby. I thought she had something on her boobs...I mean hair".

And don't forget, everything has to filter through your eyes too. Perception is reality? Until reality smacks you in the face, and you open your eyes. |
