Hello everyone, my name is Alex and I´m a diving Instructor in Puerto Aventuras, a Marina located one hour and a half south of Cancún. I joined this site because I´m interested in meeting girls from everywhere who would like to have any kind of friendship, it does´nt matter if it´s just penpal or short, long, medium term relationship, etc, it doesn´t matter to me. I just spend a loads of time at home on the computer that, it would be much easier for me to chat and meet girls that way (which I´m just starting to try out).
You may wonder why if I live in a tourist area do I need to find friends on the Internet. It´s very simple. Most people think these places are just for that but it´s no always the case nor the most important. You see, where I live, people are extremely shallow and superficial, especially the ones that already live here, girls only want to meet millionaires, guys only want to switch tourist girls every night. Besides that, not many single girls travel down here, it´s mostly couples and families and ultimately, I´ve lived here for twenty years so I got bored of that stuff before the first year. Anyway, I´m also a diving Instructor and that´s what I do for living all year around so if you´re a diver, I can help you to enjoy the local coral reefes as well (guys or girls, it really doesn´t matter to me). Thanks and I hope to get some feedback anytime! |

You lucky dog! You get to dive in warm clear water! Here it is green and cold! You do have to watch out for Tiger Sharks though. They actually are a lot more aggressive than Great Whites and I have been in the water up close and way to personal with one.
The creepy thing with great whites when they swim by is you can feel them sizing you up when they look right at you and believe me, they look you right in the eyes! Wanna trade jobs? Prolly not! |

Hi back to you all! Yes, of course I´ve seen tiger sharks, not all the time but when I worked in Cozumel it was part of the job to find your way around them, they don´t like divers. About great whites, I´ve never seen one, I definitely would kill to see one though. Besides the open water, I do a loads of cave diving. Here, is normal to go to the freshwater sinkholes (cenotes) for diving, it´s the best cavern diving in the world and it´s very recreational, I take people everyday. Contact me if someday you make a trip down here.
Alex. P.s. I´ll think about trading jobs after this afternoon when come back from cavern diving in fresh, pristine and warm waters! |

Cozumel has AMAZING drift dives.... I'll pass on the cavern diving but sounds interesting. As far as sharks go... If I remember correctly, the bull shark season is something to see.
Welcome and cheers diver! |

This is where I begin to grumble and complain about how LUCKY LUCKY you are! I am so uber jealous! There are days here where you can see a couple hundred feet but the water here is pretty turbid. Catalina has clear water diving but it will make your nipples very hard. You need to wear a wet suit. I have yet to see anyone who can do the first thermocline without one on. A warm day here is 62 degrees F. Typical is around 58. When El Nino rolls in we can get up to 70 and then the Yellow Tail run (TASTY FISH!). The kelp beds have some very spectacular diving here. They are like cathedrals full of fish. There are areas along the Kelp Beds you can spot GWs without needing a cage, just stay among the kelp. A GW will not go there period! Tiger sharks are not anywhere near as Aggressive as Bullhead Sharks. Those are serious trouble and a warm ware species too. Tiger sharks like to eat sea birds and fish but have been known to chomp on seals. Bullheads LIKE the taste of humans though and worst for us is they like to hunt in groups. Here we got Mako sharks and they can be a bit problematic on open water dives. Boy they do taste a lot like Swordfish though! A friend of mine told me about the diving there. SPECTACULAR was all he said about it and let his pictures say the rest. There is one cave they were at that was simply huge like an Theater Stage with a reef all around it that made it look like Neptune's Theater. I had to agree seeing the pic. Clear blue water, insane visibility, white sand everywhere, and lots of tasty fish! Just don't let them get a taste of you! DAMN IT! Now I really am jealous! |
