Adj you are right. The pre-season is to be used to see what your questioneable players can do. It is used to put players in new positions and check them in an actual game. It's usually just an experimental scrimmage.

You guys are right, the preseason is used to see who can fill the thrid and maybe even the second string postions.
But thats why i think its awsome to go undefeated in the preseason. if your 2nd and 3rd string guys can get it done against the other teams backups, then i think that shows how well your 1st string is |

Sometimes...It just depends on how the coach is using the field time. If he has some really big questionable areas...he will key on that. I don't think it matters too much to the coaches about winning. I think he is looking for individual performances and trying to make certain plays click smoothly and quickly. Big Ben even said that he found some areas that need work during the last game. Now they know what to work on before the real season starts.
