I think soul mates dont have to bee opposite sex or just between lovers. I think A woman can be married and have a soul mate with a friend whom they are not sexually involved with. It might be nice to marry your soul mate, but I am not convinced it is always the case.

Yes, I agree to a certain extent. You can have a very close platonic friendship with someone of the same sex. Someone who can finish your sentences, knows what you're thinking or feeling, even when you say you're 'fine' OK. (Women will understand that one. LOL)

But when a soulmate is also your sexual partner, that just takes it to a new level entirely.

I believe soul mates come into our lives for different reasons and different seasons to teach us about ourselves. I don't think it's a romantic thing at all. It's spirtual.

I agree. My last wife said we didn't have to get married. She was easy to live with and a great friend who I could talk about anything with. It sucked when she passed on. I have friends who I am not sexually involved. Its a cool way to live. The awesome thing is you can have so many friends just as long as you don't get sexually involved with them. I have learned a lot of things from them and most of them are married. Yup. Sex with someone can screw up a good relationship. I would have to agree with Chrissy its a spiritual thing. Someone once told me that people come in to your lives for a reason...even if that person is only around for a bit, they are there affecting your life...and continue to do so even when they are not around...I have had quite a lot of "soul friends" and still think about them even though I moved away...it is amazing how people are all connected...

That's actually my philosophy on life....life is all about our relationships with people...helping each other...and learning from each other...

I've only ever met one person in my life who I would grant soul mate status - the friendship had a profound, life changing effect on me. I see it now as ultimately a positive thing
