Hello, I finally went and saw a movie alone for the first time ever. Followed up by a couple of supposed to be cool spots, the first one quite a dud, the second was cool and had even a live band. Overlaps the water faces the sailboats. A couple of single men in there I noticed and a lot of groups of single ladies. Sadly even my friends were out of town or with their kids which left me alone but I am proud of myself. I never thought in my life I would have to do that but I had a day off and wanted to use it. At least I know where to take all my friends this weekend. Then we will group party like it's 1999. woo-hoo. Maybe then some hot guy will see how fun I am and pull me in for a well needed kiss. haha.

being confident enough to go places you want to go by yourself is a big plus. Been doing that for years and it really does help to fill in some of the gaps.

I've been going out alone - to some events - for 10 years.

I either date myself or my friends.

Its fun and I don't know if I want to take steps backwards and start dating "men" again. Every time I go on a date, the experience reminds me of how lame dating can be.

Life is less complicated without the drama and mire of other people's crap.

You know I used to see it as confidence too. But then someone told me they don't do it because they enjoy sharing an experience with someone else. They don't enjoy going somewhere alone because they would have no one to share it with. Interesting take.
