It's so nice to smell the FEAR in the air ...

The DemoComs get all their wimmens from the 'HAG' gang and they WISH they had somebody as gorgemous as Palin, but they don't ... which means all their li'l wet dreams are to people like Hillary or the 'Code Pink' sweatsuitin' two-baggers who can't even inspire their 'men' to experience 'premature congratulations' ...

I love the smell of DemoFEAR in the mornin' ... smells like ... VICTORY.

If Sarah Palin is the best the GOP can come up with, I fear for the entire USA.

I can only go by what I hear, but other than the scenery, what is out there? Especially if you're out in remote locations. It would become a PITA (and pricey) to have to take a plane or ferry to get off your island and go anywhere. Let alone shipping costs out there is crazy if you order anything from the lower states. I guess it all depends on exactly where you are or if you like being in those kind of areas though.
im hoping you used the word island figuratively.
our resources arent nearly as limited as they were maybe 10 years ago...shipping is free from most places that offer free shipping just like the rest o the US. dont forget that alaska hosts a somewhat popular international airport.
youre missing the quality of the people too.
it is a different way of life but not at all difficult to embrace.

I was meaning islands like the ones off the coast of Ketchikan and such. Maybe not all that remote there, but considering that I'm from Pittsburgh, it's still remote by comparison. I suppose that would be true about shipping if it's from some large companies, but from Ebay, etc it's a different story in most cases. Not that I've really paid all that much attention to it before though. As far as the quality of people go, I don't think it would be any different than anywhere else. No matter where you go you'll have great people and ...... some not so much. I'd think it would depend on the individual on how difficult it would be to embrace living there. I, for example am used to being able to be in downtown Pittsburgh in 20 or so minutes in one direction or can be in the middle of a farm or woods 10 minutes in the other direction. Concerts, sports, boating, you name it. Just about anything you'd ever want isn't far away. Alaska, not so much. Now tell me how far you'd have to go to see a NFL or NHL game, or go to a NASCAR race in Alaska? I think it would take quite a while for me to embrace something like that.

its true that those sort of events are hard to come by. it isnt uncommon that even scheduled concerts are cancelled.
there are very few companies in my experience that over charge for shipping to alaska. ironically, Cabellas is one that does. i do a lot of ordering online though and havent had a problem.
as far as the quality of people i mean that it is expressed and understood. there is more shock and awe to learn a neighbor isnt what you had assumed. neighbor in the broad sense, for clarification. a loose example, i dont need my ID at the bank. and if im pulled over, chances are i know the officer and the majority of his family. i have lived several cities in the lower 48 that didnt offer the same comfort. many tourists comment on the overall friendliness of the people here. though i cant help but have a biased perspective.
also, considering the availability of city v. wildlife, i live in a suburb of Anchorage 10 miles outside of the city. 15 minutes and i'm in the largest city for at least 1,500 miles. 5 minutes and i'm on high alert for bears. within 2 miles of me there are more than 400 businesses and most of them are privately owned. people who live further out do so because they choose to, and the availability of remote property is abundant and at comparitively low cost for those who prefer it. a testament to the fact that alaska, in spite of the current economy, is still almost completely unscathed.
the landscape is only a small part of the attraction of living here. we recognize that it takes a certain type to handle the weather but most celebrate the abundance of its riches and enjoy the purity unique to very few remaining places in this country. we live in a place so abundant with resources that our state government has room to share the wealth. that is a rarity in my view. i would trade the hustle of a large city for a cup of hot chocolate under a show of northern lights any day.

Sarah palin has it where it counts. She has guts, she honors America, and she stands up for what she believes in.She knows Government, and she knows what the people expect from her.She would make a great leader in our corrupt and failing government.

SHe's so damn hott. It would be much better then looking at the one thats in there now and her policies awould be much better too.

If it came down to the two of them using a stripper pole... I think I'd give my ones to Michelle O, before Sarah P.

About the only thing I can say good about Palin is that she has mad hunting skills. I bet she knows how to gut a deer, and that's a plus.

I know that government knowledge isn't the Repulican supports on this sites forte, but the First lady doesn't make policy in this country. The last one that did something that worked... Nancy Reagan.

Well, for once we agree on something ...

Mooch-elle is eminently more suited to be on the stripper pole than Sarah Palin would EVER be ...
