This has to be one of the most unnecessary films ever. I mean... really. Anybody have any thoughts?

Well no never watch that ....am currently watching The Babysitter ..

I like it. One of my favorite rape/revenge flicks. No film is unnecessary if it entertains. The remake looks promising.

Which Babysitter? There's more than one with that title, or is it Babysitter: Wanted?

thats the one torgo ! I was gonna watch it ..but change ma mind when i saw a half naked girl crying and somebody use a hammer whack her in the head !

It's a good movie. Great double feature with the other babysitter flick- House Of The Devil.

The Video Nasties

Many,many movies were, at some time or other accused of being 'video-nasties'. Prior to the 'Video Recordings Act of 1984' (VRA) the onus was on the courts to prosecute a film if it was likely to "deprave or corrupt" the viewer. The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) drew up a list of videos that were liable for prosecution. Below are 39 films that were cleared from the nations shops and successfully prosecuted. Some were later released in butchered versions, others were never seen again- the lucky few managed to make a meagre living at especially dodgy bootfairs. Here they are, ladies and gentlemen, the original, the infamous, the banned, the...video-nasties.

"Video nasty" was a term coined in the United Kingdom in the 1980s that originally applied to a number of films distributed on video cassette that were criticized for their violent content by various religious organizations, in the press and by commentators such as Mary Whitehouse.

The DPP list of 'video nasties' was first made public in June 1983. The list was modified monthly as prosecutions failed or were dropped. In total, 72 separate films appeared on the list at one time or another. Thirty-nine films were successfully prosecuted under the Obscene Publications Act but some of these films have been subsequently cut and then approved for release by the BBFC. The remaining 35 were either not prosecuted or had unsuccessful prosecutions.

A number of films spent a short time on this list because their prosecutions failed shortly after publication or because it was decided that prosecution was not worth pursuing. Ultimately, the list became obsolete when the Video Recordings Act came into force, and since 2001, several of the films have been released uncut. In the majority of cases below where cuts were made, they were scenes of real-life animal cruelty and/or excessive violence to women, both of which are still regarded with some degree of severity by the BBFC.

Also, some of these films were banned even though they weren't that violent, while far more violent films went unnoticed.

The sequel on the other hand I Spit on Your Grave 2: Savage Vengeance, now that was bad. Poor Camille Keaton must have been desperate to reprise her role for this.

Yeah, I saw that she did the sequel. Thought that was kinda weird. Not terribly surprisingly, most of the actors from the film didn't do much (if any) other work.

Same can be said about most low budget horror films- many that are considered cult classics have very few actors that went on to other things...and yet some really bad horror films have had big name stars come from them.

And watching Sam Rockwell's performance in Clownhouse it's interesting he went on to a big career, but the two actors that played his brothers didn't, and they were as good(if not better) than he was.

The movie Babysitter wanted wasnt scary ...it was so stupid but however VAMPIRES SUCKS really made me laugh

sigh....

ever watch BLOOD MONKEY?

Yeah, that one I didn't like. And I'm a big fan of killer animal flicks, so I was looking forward to it.

Greg Nicotero Finds Murder at 'The Drive-In'!

I was having healthy beverages with FX King GREG NICOTERO (of KNB) last night at FANTASTIC FEST and after I spiked his drink, he revealed to me that he has been attached to direct the feature film version of Joe R. Lansdale's classic genre book THE DRIVE IN. Although Nicotero just cut his teeth on his short flick UNITED MONSTER TALENT AGENCY, this will be his feature lenght directorial debut. They are now in the process of setting up the picture.

THE DRIVE IN is about: When a group of friends decided to spend a day at the world's largest Drive-In theater horror fest, they expected to see tons of bloody murders, rampaging madmen, and mayhem - but only on the screen. As a mysterious force traps all the patrons inside the Drive-In, the worst in humanity comes out.

Sounds like a blast to me! More news when we get some!
