What made it 'ours'? What gave anyone the right to own the earth that sustains us. The First Nations populations had no sense of ownership. They lived off the land and had a respect and appreciation for the gifts of the land. They didn't own it.

They were forced off land and some white dood arbitrarily decided to lay claim to it....then decided that money could be made by stripping it of everything valuable without thought to the consequences to the planet.

wrong... every nation throughout history fought to keep and take over land. name one that didn't. survival of the fittest. sorry you don't agree with it, but it is human nature to try to take what doesn't belong to them. and when they take it over, it does belong to them then. just about everything alive fights over what they think is theirs. from the smallest of insects to man, every one of them do it, over land, property, just a piece of space. everything wants to survive, and will do what it takes to do so.

I celebrate Thanksgiving (though ours is tied to harvest and not a historical ((okay debatable historical event)) event) to be what I am thankful for. I also spend some of my time on that day to help the less fortunate. Also all races were settlers of some ilk, yet some sought to integrate previous races on lands conquered or settled. Some sought to wipe them out. When a Native American fought to save their way of life it was called a massacre or unprovoked. Victors write the history, media warps perception, even today.

I have only time to inform, not teach.
