...what IS that?
Why do people say something abrasive and derogatory, then sign off with the word peace...???? Isn't that a complete hypocrisy?...an oxymoron? Or has the definition of peace devolved in the last few years??? It reminds me of peace keeping forces....loaded up with giant f*ckoff guns and kevlar suits.... HUH? in Australia, we would say...'What the...????'...to that one.. |

Because most people can't find there azz with both hands. Peace.....

yeah like that!!!... Why do people use the word 'peace' in that context, when they mean the opposite??? |

'Peace' is short for Peace Out which is a slang term used to tell someone good-bye.

Hmm. Oddly enough, I don't see any inconsistency here ...

I think that person who said that to you, just might be interested in you

What an ugly thing to say.
Does this mean we're not friends anymore? |

"Peace out" developed as slang in the sixties as good-bye and be at peace.....which with age and lack of understanding of the peace and love era the actual meaning got lost to mean just good-bye these days. other good-bye terms check ya later outtie caio and many more probably wouldnt understand any of todays......but will say this the first time a guy called me phat I almost punched him in the teeth I looked at him and said what the hey.....I think he almost ran trying to explain it didnt mean fat......anybody else with slang stories I wonder?? |

LOL I had this strange guy one time walk up to me in a store and say "Ohhhh do you ever have some junk in your trunk!" I of course had this horrified look on my face and was about ready to punch him. As he was quickly backing away he was telling me that was a GOOD thing! So now I know that having junk in your trunk is a good thing.. not a bad thing. Unless of course someone doesn't care for the junk that's in your trunk! LOL

I had the same thing happen with this job I took in a Warehouse one summer. I definitely was not hip to the urban slang, and a guy at my packing table kept telling people I was Phat and then when he actually came up to me at break one day and said " u phat girl" I got pissed. I didn't say anything to him but marched straigt toward the office to file a formal complaint when someone else asked me what was up. When I told , he started laughing and explained what the guy meant. Then, of course, I felt bad. I guess I just barely passed summer urban vocabulary 101 And of course I was not at all fat - in fact I was 2 clothing sizes smaller than I am now!! |

Go f*!!@#!!*ck yourself...peace... This is a typical message sent to me from a lot of guys on this site (not forum posters - profile trollers). Nice! I think the reference to "peace" is "peace out" as in good bye. |

If I wrote it it would be piece |
|
|
|
at least they don't say
"one" |

Peace is like water, no one can hold on to it without it running through their fingers.
Us Yanks do a lot of shart that is so contradictory. Someone needs to give us a good crack in the back acre with a banjo! |
|
|
|
it was a condign statement and peace was used to not make it look that bad,as in i wasn't in a rage i did type it calmly
|

"Peace out" does not mean goodbye it means "chill" or "lighten up".
As in, "you got to peace out it's the internet". |

My male nurse and me were discussing the same thing last night. I was asking him if a person with both sexes could get him/her self pregnant. To tell a double sexual person to go screw themselves takes on a new meaning. They might actually like it and it might be peaceful.

Fascinating stuff.....
I know us aussies have the weirdest slang, to other cultures...it just seemed so harsh for a person to be telling another to go feck 'emselves...and then signing off with 'peace'... (and I do know what peace out meant...back in it's original context) |
|
|
|
Ah but now why is it people can do fuqued up stuff to each other knowingly and think saying "sorry" can fix everything.
That is something people of every culture do! |
