Anyone ever do it, or give to those doing it? What's your take on it?

I just posted to Begslist, if it works out, I plan to repay anyone who makes a donation to me, and once things get better for me, I will be giving to others there as well.

I also plan on giving personal loans at Propser and LendClub to help others in need.

OPINION....Quit being lazy & get a job.

Even if it is shoveling crap, better than begging.

That's the concept. But, I don't plan on just taking money. I plan on giving it back and spreading the generosity.

We all need help at times.

OPINION...Asking for help, is way different than begging.

Asking for work so you can feed & house yourself, is not begging.

Begging is asking for a free handout, depending on the charity of others. If able to work, NO REASON to beg.

Again, OPINION

I just see it as a way of helping others, but yes, lots of scams. Unfortunately some will abuse and exploit the kindness of others.

Hmm ... big pile of hot, smelly, steamy stuff - better not step in it ...

My sign would say 'Will Look Busy For Money' ...

Barnum also said 'Never give a sucker an even break' ... or was it W C Fields ... ?

Begging in any manner is not right IMO. My preference would be to the corner car window washer(even if he smudges my window with goop) I appreciate that he got up that morning and went to work. Just like I did!

Begging pulls at sympathy strings and "some" people cannot say no... a compulsion to help people in need... Most Beggers thrive on it and have no problem taking more than their needs/share...

Some are really down on their luck with enough pride to not ask for a handout... I help them because no matter how bad things got... I don't think I could ask for anything without deserving it.

Your initial thoughts of goodwill to repay the "online lenders" can easily take a back seat to lifes financial obstacles... it's a slippery slope.

The harder you work.... the luckier you'll get!

Cheers

PS: An online "lending tree" is a recipe for disaster... good luck

but for the Grace of God, there go I

some people feel good helping others in return for nothing,,,I do it all the time,, its not mine to judge how hard they are 'working' in their lives, just that they are in need

if there is a network of others who have the means to help(which I dont at this time) , it does both sides some good

No, I don't steal from the rich, but I do give to the poor.

After reading this, I'm perplexed. You need money, but you're online (ISP) fees, have a computer (initial investment of at least $300 and then there's electricity). And most likely you have a roof over your head. Sorry, sounds "scamish" to me.
