Topic: A question for the ladies... | |
---|---|
Now time and time again I see men looking for "Ladies" "Women" "Girls" and "Females."
Now I know there is a right way and a wrong way to approach things and people. But I have a singe question that just burns at me... Do any of you ladies out there think it is demeaning for a man to refer to you as (in this way) "looking for females?" It almost sounds like they are looking for animals, not people. So what is your take on this hot topic ladies??? Is this yet another taste of how clueless men really are???? |

It really doesn't matter all that much what you call us as long as it isn't the b word. That being said, what a guy is searching for online says a lot about what he's really looking for. If he's looking for a woman, that's a good indication he seems to be looking for someone who he can respect or treat as an equal. If he's looking for a girl, maybe he really wants a girl or is looking for someone who is young at heart and thinks of himself in the same terms. If he's looking for a female, maybe that's all the criteria he has (if you know what I mean). This is just my theory, of course.

I have less issues with "female" then "girls". With "girls" I'm left trying to figure out why they want underage children.

I agree with you, it does sound like there looking for animals in a way, ladies or women just sounds more respectful in my opinion.

without grunting, I am a happy camper. |

Is this yet another taste of how clueless men really are???? it all comes down to context for me,, I know men who use the term WOMAN in a demeaning context and others mean it as a term of endearment I think people give words alone too much meaning, without considering context... a possible reason why some men use the term female is because woman implies a certain maturity that they may not be interested in, and girl limits their possibilities to someone fairly young , its sad when people cant use accurate adjectives (female and woman are the same thing , one is just more specific than the other),in a neutral and accurate context for fear of someone else being offended |
