Need a job? Why SURE you do. Want a job? Get in line. 'Obamanomics' is NOT going to make it easy for ANY of the people now out of work to return to work anytime in the foreseeable future. It will also make it more difficult for the people now working to KEEP their job. But hey ... it's all good, right ... ? I mean, we got all 'Hopey - McChangey', din't we? Ev'rybody got they li'l piece o' the dream, right ... ? And look - we got all that great 'ObamaCare' what be's comin' up ... an' ... an' ... HEY! He took over GM and Chrysler ... ! How dat for righteous anger ... ? Give the brother a break - I mean, hey!, he INHERITED all this mess from BUSH, y'know ... See how tired those 'arguments' get ... ? Reality is always one hundred and eighty degrees away from political lies ... just like 'hope' and 'change' are from words with actual meaning ... Elections. Have. Consequences.

Ezra Klein calls this “the scariest jobs graph you’ve seen yet,” and for good reason.  The center-left Brookings Institute calculated what kind of job growth it would take to reach pre-recession employment levels, and how long it would take. Brookings takes into account population growth and therefore calculates that in this month, the total employment gap has expanded to 11.2 million jobs.  According to their analysis, adding jobs at a rate equal to the best average monthly rate for any one year in the past decade will mean we won’t catch up to pre-recession employment until 2022 (via Newsalert):



What has been the rate of job creation during the Obama administration?  Er … -181,000 per month, but that includes the entire 2009 year.  If we start in 2009Q4, when Obama argued that Porkulus and his other economic policies started taking effect, the rate of job creation under his policies has been … +39,000.  Bear in mind that this includes the massive Census Bureau hires made by the Obama administration in 2010.

How long will it take to close the employment gap with a growth rate of +14K in the private sector?  It’s flat-out impossible, because we’re digging the hole deeper each month at that rate.  Under the failed Keynesian policies of the Democrats in Congress and the Obama administration, 2022 looks like a pipe dream instead of a nightmare.

much like someone who admits to laundering money from their CHURCH, I can probably find the numbers and data to manipulate towards my opinion too...

can't go by any of that... there numbers are offset to make it look better than it is.... like when a person quits getting unemployment, they look at that as getting a job, because their numbers are based on who's getting/applying for unemployment. thats why they didn't want extend the benefits, so it looks like obama has created jobs, but they are only fictionary jobs.

you have to be doing work for pay to be considered employed, its not automatic when you leave unemployment

As long as the small businesses do not get the necessary optimal circumstances (low tax, fair competition ground, more confident bank lending) there will be no recovery whatsoever.

Mark my words.

The entire purpose and the "theme" of United States is a fair and competitive field given to small businesses. Any business any(!) would not even exist if it wasn't for giving a chance to try something new and have the opportunity to compete.

Small businesses, fair compeititon was the heartbeat of USA. The current crisis is like getting a stroke. United States right now is in the critical condition room in a coma and things aren't getting better.

If the banks continue to be a bunch of Son of a Bs and not giving loans because they are greedy and if there isn't a fair ground for small businesses to form and grow, then just start saving money for the nails into this coffin right now, this patient is going to die.

The amount of small businesses destroyed in the last 3 years is staggering. They won't even talk about it. They won't even count them, since they have no chance to get any sort of financial aid, so their numbers are not included in the number of unemployed trumpeted by the media. Any number you might see on CNN or Fox is not the real number. You are better of multiplying that number by at least 2. So It's not 11% unemployed. It's 22%, which is great depression numbers from the 30s.

If the USA is so weak that Obama can bring it down in the next 19 months, than it probably isn't worth saving. But since that is plain nonsense, I can guarantee the US won't be destroyed in the short or long term. There are just too many great people trying to build a more robust union instead of always trying to rip it apart with dissension.

I watched a news segment last week that showed some of Obama's speech to Michigan residents touting the new car battery plants to make the future batteries for future electric cars. Obama praised what "he" had done and how much good the billions of dollars in federal grants were going to do for Michigan residents, America's future, etc. He went into great detail about how the grants were the way to end the recession and change the future of America.

I looked it up and the plant paid for by US tax dollars is owned by LG Chem, a South Korean company.

If the return on the invested capital goes to a foreign country, many of the benefits of the investment are lost to the US taxpayer.

Oh. I see ... So that means the United States is immune from asshattery in the Big Boy Chair leadership position ... ? I think not. Even 'Gaffe-O-Matic' Biden has admitted the jobs that have been lost 'ain't comin' back' - and so has 'The UN'. Words without action to back 'em up are "Just words ... just speeches" ... the boy's STILL an empty suit with NO clue as to how to BUILD anything, but he's assembled one helluva wrecking crew to tear this country down. Think it can't happen? Think it's NOT happening? Think again.

There isn't any.

The "doom" started during Bush's reign of terror in actuality. Bush was too busy playing "I can kick your ***" with the world to pay attention to what was happening.
