As some of you may know, I experimented with one of the pay sites last
year for 3 months. I chose one based primarily on the fact that they
seemed to have the most members in my area.

I paid $24.95 a month and, during the 3-month period, received 174
e-mails from various members. Because I was a paying member, anyone
from that site could e-mail me for free.

It was obvious that the people who were writing to me were mostly
"ineligible" (clearly, they hadn't read all the way through my profile,
or they would have known better than to write!) -- in fact, of the 174,
I would consider 4 to have been legitimate prospects (until I got to
know more about them, anyway).

After 3 months, I stopped paying. I never deleted the account; it's
still up, and I still average 1-2 flirts and/or views a day. Flirts are
kind of pointless because non-paying members can send them back and
forth, but unless one of you becomes a paying member, it can't really go
any farther than that.

But in the past two weeks, I am suddenly getting many more flirts. All
from local people, all from people I would never get involved with
(based on their profile information), all from people who should know
better than to send me a flirt (based on my profile information).

Here's my question: Is this for real, or is this a ploy on the part of
the site to make me think that there is suddenly all this interest in
me, so that I SHOULD go back to paying-member status? It seems odd,
timing-wise, since my paid account expired a little over a year ago.

I have heard of sites which actually send bogus flirts or messages or
whatever (supposedly, there are fake accounts set up solely for this
purpose), simply as a means of inducing people to obtain paid
memberships. I have never heard that claim made about this particular
site, but that doesn't really mean much.

And if it IS a ploy, they are certainly doing a lousy job of inducing me
into anything. I have yet to receive a flirt from anyone even remotely
suitable.

And it isn't the $24.95 a month, either -- if they actually had the type
of person I was looking for, fine, it's worth a few bucks to meet people
like that. But they don't have those people on there. The way I figure
it, if they don't have anybody I'm interested in, it really doesn't
matter how much I pay (or don't pay), or how many flirts I get (or don't
get)!
Because it ain't goin' nowhere, nohow!

Pay sites are a joke. If you're serious about meeting a quality partner
sign up with a traditional matchmaking site. This is what I plan to do
when I relocate. It may cost a bit more, but as the old saying goes,
you get what you pay for.

I have paid for a couple of them before I found this one, they didn't
work at all. This one hasen't worked yet, but I'm still new. And this
one is fun!

Go with a traditional matchmaker if you're serious about meeting a
quality partner, otherwise you can goof around here about as well as
anywhere.

i asked about this to n they told me to just use sites like this, i
havnt pay for a site yet but i have had does try out memberships. i get
lots of flirts but only one was flirt back n fort and then the site said
u reash the limit of flirts w/ this person so they stop

Don't bother, Lex. I joined and paid at a site and got those "winks" all
the time. They were ways to get you to do another month. I didn't meet
anyone, either, and it was a waste of money.

Match is a good pay site. I have had several dates from it and if you
don't find someone during your first year they will give you a free
year. I have a date this weekend from Match!

Why pay, when sites like this are free.
Found JSH, don't plan on ever paying again.

All I met from Match was psychos but I think I attract those natrually.

Whatever site you choose...stick with the local girls so you can date.
All sights have psychos. The more serious people will pay for a dating
servous. The non-pay places have more people just playing.
