Try this: http://www.mediafire.com/?rj1i0t4omr5

Then set it as default program to open gif files.

program won't work by itself/install. You have to select it as the default for opening gif files then open a gif file with it. (right click on the gif file you want to open and select open with)

What I do for animated gifs is I open them in Firefox. Works for me, though it's not the most efficient program for gifs.

It's time to stop using IE. That's my recommendation. To hell with Micro$oft. Get Chrome or Firefox.

IE is like the AOL of the 90s. Crap and over bloated junk..it was always. I used Netscape before I used Firefox.

presently I do, but using Windows 7 when I want to open a gif (animation) file, it automatically opens in IE. Looking for a program that I can install that will allow me to view animations and slides without it being in IE. Opening in IE does not give me the edit functions/features I like to use.

Downloaded IRfanview - opens the gif (yes set it as the default) but very little edit features.

Anyone have any other suggestions or programs that I may be able to use.

I took XP off my old laptop and loaded Ubuntu. Works great for it's main purpose, text editing and surfing.

Windows 7 is extremely fast, I'll give it that much. It works great for our most demanding programs, but it still has it's kinks, since the software is still so new.

If you want a real computer and a real easy to use OS, though, you'd try Ubuntu. It's uber easy to use, and is very stable. It also offers security options only dreamed of in Windows and Mac.
