About phileksa
Hi! I'm an effeminate male who's rebuilding his life and home. When I moved here, someone had stripped the copper from the bat, and so I replaced it with low-cost and easy to install PVC. The house still needs a lot more work! I like wearing skirts and prefer to be referred to in the feminine as I really see myself as a girl. So if you don't mind a chronic work in progress, say "Hi" and we'll see where it goes from there! {Wenesday, August 11, 22:59hrs} Well, a close friend had her e-mail and WoW account hacked, and whoever did it stripped her mage of everything for some reason. So I ran her for a bit through a vanilla dungeon, but I couldn't complete it with my level 80 druid because the bosses are too tough for me. People swear the bosses aren't that tough, but they'd just be that wrong. We lost a considerable amount of time and a large number of goods with that hack. We really aren't happy about it. I had a cafe press store for a short time, but it appears that was removed for some reason. I suppose they don't approve of shirts saying "John 20:25" on them for some reason, with a cross in the background. Alas, some bible verses are really, really inconvenient! I missed an appointment today. I'll have to reschedule it, I guess. I missed the appointment because I missed the bus to get to the appointment. The bus to the appointment is an odd one. It runs every half an hour, but arrives 15 minutes before or after the hour. I suppose that's convenient, but none of the other buses run on that schedule, thus adding fifteen minutes to the trip. When I realized I missed the bus, I tried to meet the connecting one, but got just close enough to watch it p us by. There was a chance I could have caught it later, if I caught another bus, but that seemed rather iffy. I refuse to buy a car. Insurance on cars is expensive, much more than the bus pes, not to mention maintenance and gas, only to sit in my driveway most of the time since I hardly ever leave the house. The other night, I laid some plywood patches on the floor. It went so well, I'm considering expanding the size of the patch to cover more floor! It's only quarter inch plywood. There's no need to get anything heavier just now. Eventually, half inch or three quarter inch will be laid down. If the quarter inch already covers the floor of the living room, however, it will likely be half inch, with three quarter inch in the hall and bedroom. {Monday, August 3, 2010; 08:40hrs} My main machine's been up for almost eight hours now. I think it's done with all it's updates and stuff. The company that made it sent me a bad CD, which prevented the machine from being restored to it's factory settings. It took hours for the machine to restore to it's factory settings, and it took more hours for it to update. It's running Windows XP Professional Edition, so it had a lot of updates to go through. In any event, now it's back up again, I'll be spending a lot of time in World of Warcraft playing catch-up since I lost pretty much a whole weekend. {Friday, July 30, 2010; 06:56hrs} My main computer went down last night. It was hiccuping while it was online, and I turned it off. It made it through the POST, but stopped doing stuff after that. POST gave no unusual indications that there might be a problem with the hardware. That machine, although it was bought as a refurb, is still under warranty, although it's warranty won't last much longer. I have some CDs that are supposed to correct the problem, but they are producing an error. As far as I can tell, I followed the intuitive directions regarding their use to the letter. Looks like I'll have to call tech support on this one today. I actually am running three computers. One is the main machine {currently down}, one is a machine used primarily to play music, but also for messengers, and this machine. I have a fourth machine, but it lacks certain peripherals and is therefore not online. The machine I'm using now is a very high security computer. It is specially configured to protect my data on it. I did not expect to get as much use out of it as I have been, but it's been a dream. All the cables for the computers have been tied up in to neat bundles. They just got in the way too much to leave them just lying all over the place. Needless to say, some of those bundles are really quite large ...
