Agates, only found in Oregon, are from
volcanic action a long time ago. They are tossed up by wave action during tide turns. They are a see-through rock that can come in all colors. Quite beautiful...they need to be polished to bring out the shine. |

What type of weapon do you use to hunt the elusive Agate.......
The eyes. Then you get "agate" back from bending over for hours to spot them. The tide brings them in, I usually get at least a handful each walk. But this project will take some big mofo's :-) Then a leather board was suggested. I could wrap the whole chess set in it. Then I have to get someone to play with me. I take no prisoners :-) methinks I'm gonna come out there and play with ya.... |

I keep all my sand at the beach:
Too many tourists out today, I did not agate hunt. But the seals were playing, the seagulls were swooping, and the crabbers were hauling them in. Some peeps DO fish every day Jeff, crab goes for about $3 a pound. They fish for clams, shrimp, crab, and salmon here. When someone catches a bunch of crab, word goes round, we go and build a large fire, cook the crab in a pot of ocean water and mmmm. You KNOW you guys are welcome :-) |
