 Wow .. I read this on a profile on a different site, but I was so struck with the ridiculous-ness of it that I had to share here. Please tell me people (excepting this guy  ) don't REALLY do this .. His line from his profile: BTW I reduced my age ten percent so you would not prejudge me or exclude me from your search. Pics are real and recent. This is what I wrote him as 'unsolicited advice'  Dang it all, I couldn't help myself .... You seem like a fun and great guy. Can I give you a tip? Don't do the 10% age reduction just to fit in searches. I date younger constantly, and I refuse to put myself in another age category so someone can find me. I want someone to find me because they are looking for the REAL me. 59. or whatever your age. Bottom line is, you MAY look younger (I know I do) but reality is you ARE the age you are. So in the end, they need to WANT to date your age group. It is what it is .. don't live in fear you will miss out someone who doesn't really want to date your age. You really are that age. There are lots of people who date older .. I have tons of guys (from 20 on up) who are actually looking for my age group. Why try to dupe those who really aren't looking for YOU.  This may not make sense to you, but you can't fake reality hon. Just sayin .."  Needless to say .... It wasn't received very well

People probably reduce their age for various reasons. I bet that guy isnt the only one to do it for that reason.
At least he was honest though, he wasnt actually pretending to be any younger than what he is. |

Makes total sense(your advice). I guess he did admit he lowered his age but I would not trust he wouldn't tell other "white lies" in his profile....

Yeah, he shouldn't do that. I post my real age and don't have any problem finding attractive, young women to date. Age does matter to some, but it doesn't justify lying about it. There are plenty of people out there that don't have a problem with it.

For they will figure that if you lie about your age what else will you lie about....  Hummm but I wonder if I put my age as 43 instead would it help me get a date?????

You know I'm joking but I'm sure it happens more than we know, I've seen it a bunch of times, especially pictures, even if you get to talk to some that your interested in, they will either reveal up front that they " stretched" the truth or they will slip up along the line at some point. |

Male or female makes no diff ... if they'll lie about something as meaningless as age, what'll they lie about when it's sump'm serious like AIDS or herpes or even genital warts ... ? "Oh, it's just a cold sore" ... right ... I'm just sayin' ...
