I also get turned off seeing names with "Dad" or "Daddy" like, "EricsDaddy" or identifying themselves as a parent. On a dating site, being a parent shouldn’t define a person. Heck, in life, being a parent shouldn't define a person. We get it - you breed! laugh

The "Adjunct Syndrome" -- they define their existence by their relation to another person. Almost makes you wonder if they even existed as a separate and distinct entity before the other person did!

Or how about the ones that misspell it? I always wonder how they even login because they have to remember how they spelled it incorrectly.

Does a screen name that has a strong sexual connotation turn you off?

Even a weak one.

Missed ya, girl. flowerforyou

Thanks Ruthie, no more skydancingA:heart:
FearandLoathing is all too sexy, isn't it? That's why I scare them off. Or it could be the cannibalism, or the serial killer fetish, well...really any of my fetishes I guess.

Nah.
Not the cannibalism.
Or the serial killer thingy.
It is that lack of bottom teeth I am thinking..

Yes!!! whoa

The name doesn't have to exude a strong sexual nuance; even a name like "bestKisser" or "cuddleBoy" or similar is a turn off.

I like screen names with hobbies, motor sports, sports teams or just a person’s name in some form.

When you have children, they are your life. You have to provide for them and take care of them and lots of people want you to know they have kids and not hide it. It's hard to understand until you have children of your own. You gave birth to that life, it came from inside you, and it's a huge part of who you are. Just wanted to state that. But i understand if you dont want children why it would turn you off.flowerforyou

I get why people do it - I just don't understand why it defines people. My mom even told me not to let anything define me but ME; otherwise, you have nothing to live for if said "definement" is gone. We have to live our own lives.

As long as they disclose they have kids in the details then they aren't hiding anything, right?

I appreciate your kind reply though. flowerforyou

I have children , and Id have to say that type of screenname turns me off as well. I think it is just a matter of what priorities and what you most strongly associate yourself with as an individual,,,thats how I see a screen name. An adult gets a chance to name themself ANYTHING they want, so I kind of figure it will be a reflection of what they MOST identify with being or what their friends identify them with ( I have had friends nickname me and I used that as a screen name too).

I think of children as a part of me, a part of my family, but not my whole identity or even the major part of it. It would not be good chemistry in MY situation to partner with someone who saw their parenting role as the center of their identity, because one of my kids is about to leave home and the other will someday too and I will STILL be a woman and an individual.

I guess that would depend if he had a picture with a surfboard or not.
or if it was a woman beside a clothsline

Completely. It's so insanely immature.

Hmmm.
If he changed it to BiaaachFarmer, wouldn't the
broads be hanging from the line? In neat rows?

Strong sexual innuendos in a name do steer me in the other direction, as myka said it's a sure sign of immaturity. I don't mind the sweet suggestions of love or cuddling or the like.
I have been misunderstood more than once with my moniker, the doobie isn't a drug reference. My name is Ronda and my aunt started calling me Rondoobie when I was 2 watching Romper Room. Anybody else remember the Good-Do-Bee? And I was born in 69 but have learned not to include that as part of my screen name.
