Last weekend, I tried something new. With out looking at the Karaoke book, I opened it up and pointed. Which ever song I pointed at, I would sing that night no matter if I knew it or not. I did not know this song, but it worked for me! It was "Aces High" by Iron Maiden. Good times!

I had to move out to the country and there are no kareoke places nearby. Sidenote: My niece is a soloist in her school Choir and its been really nice helping her practice. |

You guys know the song "In The Mood" by Glen Miller? Probably never heard any lyrics to it, right? I saw it in a Karaoke book one time and decided to go for it thinking "How hard can it be to sing a song with no words?" Since then, I've found two different versions of lyrics to it, and they both are pretty awesome,

Sorry to hear your move moved you away from Karaoke. In Atlanta I have all sorts of choices. Last week I could not go, and the weekend before I when one time out. Since siging "Aces High" a month or so ago, I have sung for true Kamazie: Swing Out Sister "Never Going Too Change", Mr. President "Cooo Jambo", Kool and the Gang "Too Hot" and The Donna's "Fall Behind Me". Its been fun. New ones in store for this weekend! I'll keep you guy's posted. |

If you're ever in Waikiki go to the Banana Patch Lounge in the Mirimar Hotel lobby. Best karaoke spot on the island.

Living in the barren wasteland of non-kareokeness, I have discovered an online kareoke that has battles based on in-tune scores. I have to say the selection may be limited, but it is tons of fun.

Which online Karaoke are you utlizing? I had used Myspace Karaoke before just for practise, untill I discovered you can find songs with lyrics and even Karaoke versions of a song on Youtube. Then I discovered the joy of Kamakazi, so I don't practice anymore. |

Over the past couple weeks I have started going to my Church Choir practise! Got to sing this Sunday for the Easter Service. We sang six songs three times from 8:30pm-12pm. First set was for warm up and practise, second was for first service and third was for second service.
After the first service, I noticed my voice was starting to fade. I made a effort to sing from the diaphram the entire second service and it helped considerably. The amount of voice I lost by the first service remained the same. It did not get worse! |

I've been known to grab the mic and hop on stage every now and then. It usually involves a drink or 2 to settle the nerves and stage fright.

Wow, that was a while back. I did go to the party. I waved and smiled to a Lady I did not know. Six months later she became my best friend ever, until Sunday Karaoke got canceled at the place we would go to. She works weekends and can only go out Friday and Sunday. I started graveyard hour shift about a month and a half ago so I can only go out Friday and Saturday nights. Friday I meet with friends from Church for a weekly gathering/hangout. Then I pay homage to my favorite bar in the ATL. I am not too big on Dancing too, which is her Friday thing to do, so I have not seen much of her. We have had a bite to eat, before I go into work Sunday.
I was only friends with her because she has a boy friend. I wanted to honor that, because I became friends with him as well. I have learned some very important roles of a relationship in this. I learned that in a relationship you must make time for that person and you must provide for this person. I had this in me the whole time, and I simply doubted in myself. Yes, I still Karaoke, but it is once every other week on Saturday's. I have much on my plate and have made many friends. In other words, Karaoke is became one of the reasons why I go out. |
