I know a lot of people who would quit their jobs. I would do the opposite: buy enough shares of the company that laid me off to screw over the people who screwed ME, then actually enjoy going back to work.

My little brother is in prison(for drugs), he was an addict...he has been in prison since he was 18 and he is now 24, his first release date is 2016, He deserved to be punished but it doesnt mean i dont want to help him when he gets out and others like him.

we both have a hereditary blood disease. Hers crosses into many types of it and she is bed ridden. She takes the same pain meds they give 3rd degree burn victims.

I would love to get her a very comfortable bed that can sit her up and lay her down.

I have a well thought out answer for this one. First I go to Elkhart, IN to buy a really sweet RV, pumping much needed cash into a very hard hit local economy. Then I drive it down into the Appalachians and find a whole mountain to buy, maybe in TN. I would split the property into 3 sections. The first would be set aside as a wilderness area and nature preserve where hunting and hopefully fishing would be allowed in a responsible manner to manage the wildlife and natural resources. The second would be my homestead, mostly wooded with a clearing near a stream or even a waterfall if I can find one. I'd have a beautiful log cabin with a huge cobble stone porch wrapping all the way around it and huge windows to let in a magnificent view. The third section would be my income for the rest of my days. I'd build the campground of my dreams. Not just a huge parking lot for other RVs, but many wooded lots for primitive camping sites. For me camping means pitching a tent in privacy, with enough area between sites that you don't have to see anyone else if you don't want to. This business would be the land closest to whatever little town is in the area. I would build a self storage facility close to town and give my campers massive discounts to the storage units assuring they'd be back the following year since their stuff would already be there. It's not just a dream, it's a business plan! Shouldn't I win the lottery?

I actually want to write a research paper on how the war on drugs essentially does so much net-harm to society that it outweighs the complete legalization of drugs. I am opposed to legalizing drugs but the U.S. government needs to de facto not enforce many drug laws, and those that are enforced should come with much reduced penalties (such as 30-day rehab drug-only non-violent prison only)

When THIS was first asked on here a few years ago,my reply was then,,as it is now.
I would get a very large tour bus,,and have the MINGLE2 on the sides of it and post a thread about WHO WANTS TO TAKE A ROAD TRIP TO THEIR LOVE?
And then,,take ALL the ones who wanted to meet someone,,,TO THEM.
Kind of a romance ride to see how they all do with each other,,then go back around,,picking everyone back up to take them home,,

I could think of alot of things to do with a billion dollars....I would probably invest in more rehab for drug addicts that want help, you can't help someone if they dont want it. Maybe start smaller companies like cleaning businesses so there would be more jobs for people and would hire felons depending on their crime, but you only get one chance. I have actually done alot of research on the law and i am helping my brother try to get his transcripts, they have denied him twice, saying he has no legitimet reason to have them. So right now i'm working on that, I would pay a private detective to weed out bad cops. I would love to start a charity for the people here in America....Where are all the charities to help families affected by the oil spill, come on look how much we helped Haiti!! Would also love to start a program for Children that have been diagnosed with ADHD, They don't have to be on meds...there is alot you can do to help by changing their diet and giving them discipline..those are just some of the things i would do...but that's me and not everyone would agree with that and i respect their opinion. That is the first i have ever really thought about it....

Travel the U.S. first, then the world, building housing off the grid for the destitute. Find a way to get rid of all the stock-piled toxins, and legislate for a Clean and Healthy World.

If I won enough money i would buy apartment complexes and start a step off the street program. It would be a place where the homeless could come and stay for the main purpose keeping clean, fed,clothed, and bedded. So they would have a better chance of gaining employment. main thing would be. In order to stay there, you have to activally be seeking employment. And have prove that you are seeking.The complex would furnish you with the grooming and personal hygyne ideams. Along with clothes good enough to go job hunting in. Once you gained a job, you would be required to open bank account to save money to get your place away from the homeless apartment complex.
