Actually when it all comes down to it I've really wonder if it don't all come down to the issue that when we look in the mirror to us we don't look like we have aged that much. But to others we in fact do look older then we think we do...... whoa

First off I think a lot more women in their 50's look to be in their 40's .. not men. Most men in late 50's look like my dad would. And I think a higher percentage that do not care for themselves anymore. ohwell

Nothing wrong with being friends with or dating younger than you are if you fit in better with that generation. I think I have 1 or 2 close friends in their 50's, the rest in their 30's & 40's. Never date this age either. Usually in their 30's.

Just sayin.

and it's dilemma not delema  flowerforyou

I have to agree here...I see men my age that look like they have 20 years on me. Seems going gray, having a big ole belly is more acceptable for them. Society expects us gals to stay youthful but the men seem to think it's ok to let them selves go. Perhaps is why women my age are becoming more and more attracted to younger men.

I can think right off the top of my head of 3 shows who present this and I don't even watch much TV.

According to Jim..he's all out of shape and she looks fantastic.
King of Queens...again, he's all fat and she looks fantastic.
Actually the third one..I don't recall the name of it...Gina is the first name of the actress. But same deal, he's all fat and out of shape and she still looks great.

I would prefer to date my age, I like the stability, experience..so many wonderful qualities of the men my age. Really is my preference. But honestly, I have more younger interested in me and I like to stay active and do things...I want a guy who can go hiking with me, climb the mountains. Most men my age couldn't go 10 minutes.
Yet they continue to pursue the younger.

I have never considered younger men before...for the first time I am actually thinking about it...before I get to far into my 50's and can't. I have heard it said that over 60% of women who go for the younger men end up continuing to be with younger. I like that they are open minded, active and actually appreciate a woman my age, seems men my own age appreciate more the youthfulness of the younger.

Oh, when I look in the mirror and see those lines staring back at me...I'm quite aware. Some days it bothers me, some days it doesn't.

And I have seen men my age that look fantastic...but really the women in our age group seem to be carrying themselves much better than the men. Just being on mingle this last year...there are some fantastic "older women" not just the way they look, but the wisdom, the kind hearts. I'm learning that we..truly do get better with age.

I just like younger women.......I get along better with younger women. I have dated younger women in the 5 years younger, and the 5 years older, but for me the 10 years or younger fit my physical being and the way I think.

I exclusively date guys 12-15 years younger.

I don’t look at “age” when I choose my friends and lovers. I look at happiness and commonalities.

slaphead

Can you expand your thoughts?

I get along with younger people. What's your problem with that?

Do you think I discriminate against people my age? I don't. I just know the age group that I fit with the most.

When you take my statement out of context it seems that way. Don't forget the reasons I get along with younger people: interests, life goals, fashion, etc.

It’s not like I’m new with “me”! I know what I like! laugh

Haha, just noticed that the two statements contradicted each other since it sounds like you DO look at age when choosing lovers / friends. The thing is, you never know who you'll really get along with, whether they are younger or the same age. By just dating guys 12 - 15 years younger than you, you are assuming that there isn't a guy out there your age who acts younger than he is or might be into the same stuff.

Not that there's anything wrong with that of course, just sounds like you may accidentally cut someone out by default that you may hit it off with.

I see the potential of my contradiction. winking

I am open to meeting anyone but EXPERIENCE has taught me my path.

If I find a 45 year old really, really fit, over 6.0 tall, blonde with blue or green eyes who has NO kids and likes Manson, Mudvayne, et al, and wears, "Skin", Armani couture, etc, and doesn't listen to AC/DC or "old people music", then hook me up!!

rofl rofl

Of course, I am being totally obnoxious. I have no clue what life will bring me. flowerforyou

Hey, I dated a 35 YEAR OLD a few months ago! That's OLD for me! laugh

"If you didn't know how old you are.....

How old would you be?" huh

I don't notice the outside very much....I am drawn to the inside...

as well as not having your D I L E M M A...(spelling nazi arrived!)

..I have seen 90 year old faces with 5 year old eyes blazing in them.bigsmile

you sure it wasn't the medication?
gas?

hot sausage?!

rofl

i think somebody spiced the nutella and vegemite!

tongue2

My grandad at 94 had the brightest and most alert blue eyes I have seen in a long time...he was more alive than half of the 20 something year olds I know...

I get the sh * ts with people who whine about how old people look, when they haven't taken half a second to earn, or learn the inside of a person...

me? gimmee the old shabby wrapping paper, with the priceless gem inside.

so! it WAS the hot sausage! laugh

I saw someone today with this T-shirt

Older
Than
Dirt

genuine american antique

There's a dude around here who rides, who is in his late 80's, and Older Than Dirt is his nick name. bigsmile

oops, I meant that in a good way. There are some people who have some self-esteem issues that really shouldn't... at least not from where I stand.
