I don't notice the outside very much....I am drawn to the inside...

as well as not having your D I L E M M A...(spelling nazi arrived!)

My grandad at 94 had the brightest and most alert blue eyes I have seen in a long time...he was more alive than half of the 20 something year olds I know...

I get the sh * ts with people who whine about how old people look, when they haven't taken half a second to earn, or learn the inside of a person...

First off I think a lot more women in their 50's look to be in their 40's .. not men. Most men in late 50's look like my dad would. And I think a higher percentage that do not care for themselves anymore. ohwell

Nothing wrong with being friends with or dating younger than you are if you fit in better with that generation. I think I have 1 or 2 close friends in their 50's, the rest in their 30's & 40's. Never date this age either. Usually in their 30's.

Just sayin.

and it's dilemma not delema  flowerforyou

I can't hang out with the younger set, they make me crazy. Seems like all they wanna do is hit the clubs, YUK ! I hate bars and drinking. I made that scene when I was young, and got burned out on it. DUI's, hangovers, fights, Jail, not my thing anymore...
And ladies my age don't seem to like what I like, bummer...
Actually, I don't hang out with any guys either. They always wanna ride to town, and im strictly forest bound. I only go into town to shop and buy gas, period. Yep, im a full blown loner smokin

To the OP,,I to have and do feel that I do not look my age,,TO ME.
Yet,,I'm a realist and KNOW,,I've changed as well as all my friends who I SEE THEIR CHANGES,,,
And I to have questioned my own thoughts as to IF ITS ME, or what the reasons are that makes me feel I AM NOT LIKE THEM?
So through all of that, I have concluded at least with me, lol,
that I am not aware GREATLY of myself changing, because I see ME
everyday and night....All of them,,are seen through broken spaces in time passed,,,so their looks,,,are dramatic in my viewing them NOW...drinker drinker

 Thats my take,,anyway?

I just turned 68 in Mar but everyone I meet thinks I am early 50's.. I love it! And it really blows their mind after they know my age that I am riding a Harley sportster 1200...I learned to ride a motorcycle when most kids my age were learning to ride a schwinn!
Hey Dennis, I couldn't send you an email because of your age limit but I wanted to say I love your Trike!..flowerforyou

You've said "Yuck" to a lot of things people have posted. tongue2

Maybe you are sinking back too far into being a loner and you are closing your mind too much?

You don't have to drink to get drunk; you don't have to fight; go to jail or get DUIs. Be responsible if you are social. Use moderation. There are plenty of other things to do but don't necessarily be sour on everything. The other option is not to drink if you do hang out with a downtown crowd. At least you are putting yourself out there!

Smile and try something old that's new again. Who knows?

Maybe i've just been thinking too much. I do have several lady friends my own age, but im not attracted to them sexually. Actually, I don't really think about sex anymore, not like I used to anyway. I guess I remember it fine, but it's too much like work to me these days bigsmile

Well, I know what I like, and I don't have an open mind. It's my way, or the highway with me. I can entertain myself. I don't need any new hobby's or pastimes. I got plenty to keep me occupied already.
Hey, at least im honest about it bigsmile

Is it just me ?
When I was younger, people my own age, looked my age to me.
Now at 57, people my own age, look older than me, IMO.
I suppose I look their age to them, but my brain hasn't adjusted yet I suppose. I feel like im in the black hole of life...
At first, I thought I was going crazy, but then I started noticing other stuff, like music interests. Im still into AC/DC, Johnny Winter, Led Zepplin, ZZ Top, The Doors, etc... Am I some weird old guy who never grew up, or just set in my ways ? I hope im just firmly set in my ways. I don't wanna be some old weird dude bigsmile

I feel a lot like you, everybody my age looks soooooO much older....of course I never wear my glasses when looking in the mirror whoa

I exclusively date guys 12-15 years younger.

I don’t look at “age” when I choose my friends and lovers. I look at happiness and commonalities.

Can you expand your thoughts?

I get along with younger people. What's your problem with that?

Do you think I discriminate against people my age? I don't. I just know the age group that I fit with the most.

When you take my statement out of context it seems that way. Don't forget the reasons I get along with younger people: interests, life goals, fashion, etc.

It’s not like I’m new with “me”! I know what I like! laugh

Haha, just noticed that the two statements contradicted each other since it sounds like you DO look at age when choosing lovers / friends. The thing is, you never know who you'll really get along with, whether they are younger or the same age. By just dating guys 12 - 15 years younger than you, you are assuming that there isn't a guy out there your age who acts younger than he is or might be into the same stuff.

Not that there's anything wrong with that of course, just sounds like you may accidentally cut someone out by default that you may hit it off with.

Gotta admit, I am sometimes shocked at the wrinkles that seem to sneak up on me...but then I remember, I earned them...along with every gray hair. I have friends that range in age from 4 to 75. My closest friends are ages 27, 39, 50 and 75. I enjoy taking a trip to the past to listen to some of Rock's classics, but there is plenty of good new music out there. Can't imagine ignoring the new to listen to the same music over and over again for the rest of my life. I have much less energy than I once did, and that annoys the he!! out of me at times, but I have much more energy than many women who are a good deal younger than me. When it comes to romance, though, I like men my own age...whether balding or developing a paunch...whether gray or wrinkled. I enjoy knowing we have similar life histories, similar events that have affected our view of the world...just feel more comfortable and compatible with men my own age.
