Topic: "Photos May Not Be Actual Members" | |
---|---|
I saw an ad for a site I had never heard of before....it said they had "over 3019 Sexy Singles near your Zip Code." Seems like a rather arbitrary number to just toss out there, but OK....
Then they had a list of all the reasons why people should sign up on their site. The last reason was that you could "View Member Photos." Which seemed like a normal and reasonable thing to do, except, way down at the bottom of the ad, in very small type, it says: "Photos may not be actual members." Oh really? Then who the hell are they and why are those pictures on your freaking site? Jeez, why not just have people put up pics of movie stars and singers and models? Oh wait, they're already doing that. Never mind. |

Essentially, it's a marketing ploy (and by "marketing ploy" I mean "borderline fraud") to drag you into a site that makes you pay to do anything substantial, but they can't keep making money off you if you get what you came there for. So they throw up a bunch of shills, or keep old ones that no longer use the site, to give the illusion of a deeper pool to choose from.

I so badly wanted to just ask,
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? OK, now back to being serious... My pic is real. But yes, I do understand some people are shy, the rest? Virtual Mannequins. Don't you love profiles that sum up everything in five or six sentences??? Love is like a pool of water. Some people like it shallow. Some people like it deep. I like deep ponds! Aye Carumba! Now I am tossing metaphors! I guess that is better than tossing poo? EVIL MONKEY! |

Not in a practical and inexpensive manner, anyway. On the other hand, I was on a site yesterday where there 5 or 6 Miley Cyruses and at least 2 Taylor Swifts. I'm not exactly a pop culture expert, but I can recognize repetitive celebs every now and again. |

Hmmm Lex. I think all sites are afflicted. I've gotten a few views on here from this blue-eyed, blond haired mama's boy repleat with cardigan draped over his shoulders who looks like he just came off a GQ shoot. Yet the guy's from a country with no vowels in it and I couldn't decode the e-mail.
Now I suppose there's a chance that I passed on a real keeper, but I'm thinking he might have posted a fake picture. He may even be a "nise gie", as he claimed in his profile, but I'm still not biting. GQ guys aren't my type. |

...and if their really wern't any dreamers out there, their sites wouldnt be so popular lol
generally speaking...if they are really that drop dead gorgeous, ask yourself, "would they need a dating site?" and if so "would I be what they are looking for?" |
