It would show the shamefully prejudice people in this country do not rule and that Americans are aware that all Muslims are not extremists or radical.
They may not all be extremists and radicals as you put it but Muslims are still the ones who caused the attack. And they need to know that putting a mosque next to where Muslims attacked us is not okay with us. I think that all Americans should be appalled of the guts they have to even try it.

Okay so to follow your logic.

A Christian stole my purse one day. A purse snatching Christian so if I follow your logic, all Christians are purse snatchers and I should be against any Christian church for this crime against me.

I get it.

If all else fails make all of them criminals so you can feel better.slaphead

I don't think that you DO get it...

...A Christian steals your purse...
The cops know this Christian stole your purse yet they let other members of the church keep it and walk by your house carrying it every day...

By your logic, you'd be ok with a Japanese whatever being built in Pearl harbor? How about Nazi statues in every country they occupied? Why don't we put wild west museums on reservations? Maybe we can let BP build refineries on every coast they contaminate....

None of what you listed is even comparable to what was being discussed.

McVey was a Christian and we still allow Christians here and we allow them to have churches pretty much where they want them.

We need to treat the Muslims the same. Muslims live here and have for a long time. They are Americans.

They deserve to know that we as a country can know the difference between a terrorist of any religion and just regular religious folks.

Christianity has a horrible history of what they do to people, do we hold the Christians today at fault for the mistakes of their compatriots?

Everything he just mentioned is completely comparable.

Reality check here....

Christians are not engaging in Holy war all over the world.

Christians are not blowing up innocent people on a daily basis.

Christians are not calling for the destruction of the Jews and America.

Christians are not calling people Infidels.

Christians are not recruting suicide bombers.

Christians are not threatning other countries with total destruction.

Christians are not calling anyone who isn't a Christian a enemy of the world.

Christians are not terrorist!

Mcvey did not blow up a building because of Christianty or anything related to Christianity. He blew up because he was very upset over the Governments actions during the Waco stand off crisis. His religion has nothing to do with anything.Furthermore everything he did was against biblical teachings.

Seems Mcveigh was hardly a Christian after all.He believed in "a god" claimed to be a agnostic and said "Science is my religion".Doesn't sound like a Christian bible thumper to me.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_McVeigh

Political and religious views

McVeigh's only known political affiliations were his voter registration with the Republican Party of New York when he lived in Buffalo, New York, and a membership in the National Rifle Association while in the military.[77]

In a recorded interview with Time magazine[78] McVeigh professed his belief in "a god", although he said he had "sort of lost touch with" Catholicism and "I never really picked it up, however I do maintain core beliefs." Throughout his childhood, he and his father were Roman Catholic and regularly attended daily Mass at Good Shepherd Church in Pendleton, New York. The Guardian reported that McVeigh wrote a letter to them claiming to be an agnostic and that he did not believe in a hell.[79][80] McVeigh once said that he believed the universe was guided by natural law, energized by some universal higher power that showed each person right from wrong if they paid attention to what was going on inside them. He had also said, "Science is my religion."[81]

We have to be smart enough in this country to know better than to generalize the mistakes of a few to a whole type of people.

If this logic is true then all white folks need to be held responsible for slavery and pay reparations to atone for it.

All Christians have to be responsible for McVeigh and they cannot be allowed around or in any government buildings especially with their car and we need to make sure none of their churches are within view of any of the government buildings.

Etc...

All Muslims are not terrorists and the right wing hate sites should be ashamed of themselves for telling people that the enemy is all Muslims.

Obviously you do... Otherwise you would have said "People" instead of "Christianity"

When do we start? After we blame Christianity for the actions of individuals???

This should be used by doctors in mental hospitals as a example in determining when someone is losing their mind.

A mosque on ground zero would show that Americans can overcome fear and hatred.

No. It would show that this 'president' and his psychophants have no ballz.

I could care less about the minority, stereotyping, and all the other liberal nonsense. The entire Middle east is full of millions of Muslims jumping up and down shouting death to America and Israel.Only a total fool would ignor such a bold statement.Until I hear the tens of millions of muslims in the middle east(including their president)say they are going to stop the suicide bombings, stop the threats to Israel and the United states, and live and let live maybe I can see things different.I also do not call tens of millions of radical muslims a minority. You think Iraq,Iran,Pakistan,Yemen, and Afganistan is a minority? They don't want peace. They want domination and a blood bath. They will keep fighting us until every last person living there is dead.

have you actually backed up these numbers with real research, have you visited and seen with your own eyes, or are you (like most americans) relying on the words , propoganda, and campaigns of american media and politicians?

according to the CIA world fact book, there are 1.2 billion muslims in the world, within that group, I am sure beliefs and customs vary as much as Catholic customs vary from Jehovahs witnesses

to paint BILLIONS of people by what even 10 percent(an outrageous guestimate most likely) do,, and ignore that other 90 percent,,, could be considered just as insane as what Dragoness posted about being ashamed for sending a message that muslims are our enemies,,,

Christians are not calling people Infidels.

-- No they are saying they are part of an axis of evil...

Christians are not recruting suicide bombers.

-- No need, they courageously attack from afar with with drones and cruise missiles.

Christians are not threatning other countries with total destruction.

-- No they don't threaten, they go straight to invasion and occupation, against international laws and conventions, except for Afghanistan which was UN approved.

Christians are not calling anyone who isn't a Christian a enemy of the world.

-- Again, they call them axis of evil.

Christians are not terrorist!

-- Again, the IRA and ETA were or are terrorists.

Please get over yourselves...One of you mentioned moving to Canada. We don't need prejudiced people.

was about to bring this same thing up. thomas has apparantly never heard sarah palin speak. christianity has been the driving force behind all of america's imperialist campaigns.
i find all of these comments from the right wingwers to be very entertaining as it shows the bigotry and hatred.
it's beautiful more mosques are being built, it shows we're still growing : )

Yep, still growing. In how many years will it be that those "independent" women will be jailed or stoned for revealing too much skin or hair.

That Ms America Muslim ploy was pretty slick. The gal sacrificed her place in heaven by sacrilegiously displaying her body to entice more followers to the cult.

Well, Turkey seems to maintain some order without such strict laws,,,

As with most things that we like to generalize, regional culture plays as large a part as religious or political or any other type of culture...

I understand both sides to a certain degree. I feel that ignorance and prejudice towards the Muslim community must not propel to acts of violence, and showing that awesome.
I do understand the christian faith and family memberanger towards muslim communties so close to their families now deceased.
I agree to a certain extent to the findings of the board in following with the rights to practice Freedom of Religion. I further more agree that a Muslim Community and Culture Center would improve relations with the immigration of the Muslim entering the Great American Melting Pot.

If they go through with it, I hope, because that cult has been proven to use money to support terrorism is audited to make sure they are not funding the killing of Americans or Legal Immigrants.

Terrorist's are being recruited at EVERY Mosque in the United States. They are just doing this to slap us in the face.
